Bodean's Tower Hill — Restaurant in London

I have been coming to bodeans for around 10 years because i always LOVED their spicy chicken wings - huge individual pieces of chicken and full of flavour. However, after already being warned that things had gotten worse lately, I came for a lunch visit to Bodeans and ordered the usual chicken wings and these were much smaller sized than i remember and didn't taste anywhere near as juicy or fresh. Not terrible, but just not anywhere near as amazing as I was used to.

on top of this, whilst sitting at the bar eating my lunch with my colleague, i realised that my backpack which contained my laptop had been stolen (it was placed on top of the seat right next to me at the empty bar I was sitting at). I first asked the staff it they know what happend to this and none of them knew anything. Luckily, my bag had my airpods inside and I could track that my backpack had been taken to somewhere close by, but of course the laptop had already been stolen.

When I went back to the restaurant to confirm my laptop was stolen from their premises and to gather the CCTV footage which i knew was pointing right towards me at the bar, i was told the manager was too busy to look at the footage right now and would get back to me later. I was handed his contact info and emailed him that day but still I never received a reply.

The next morning, I phoned the manager asking for the footage. He told me he was already contacted by the police who were investigating this and that he would comply, but still has not yet had the free time to be able to check the footage of this crime that had happened in his restaurant. He also confirming that the CCTV was pointing in my direction, which should very clearly show when and who took my bag and that he would hand in this footage to help aid the police.

Nearly 1 week later, I hear from the Police that they had now heard back from the manager (now that he had a spare opportunity to actually check the CCTV footage) and that he could not access the CCTV footage due to an 'IT Error'. Could be true, could not be true - i won't ever know for sure.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not implying this theft is the fault of the restaurant (as I clearly should have ensured my bag was padlocked to my foot rather than being sat on a chair right next to me), but I am a bit unhappy with the inefficient and non-caring reaction the restaurant gave to a crime happening on their premises. Even with this camera footage not actually being available, the manager already has my contact details and didn't even contact me to apoligise or give any other sort of comments - since their 'IT error' effectively stops the Police from investigating any further. it has now been 2 weeks since the incident.

so due to this unfortunate experience, unempathetic attitude (and very average chicken wings), I don't see myself returning to Bodeans in the future. (though i will give credit to the serving staff during the meal, as they were quite attentitive and friendly for most of my time at...

I have been to several different bodeans Branches in London and always loved the food and atmosphere. But tonight is the first time i have received the worst and horrible service from the server.

We had friends who have come all the way from Birmingham to visit London for the first time and me and my wife had boasted to them about how amazing the food here was... We entered at 845pm and informed the server it was a table for seven. She informed us that the branch closes at 10 which was fine with us.

She firstly was in a rush to take the order and kept wanting to take the menus back. We ordered a lot but while we were still eating at 9:19 she came asking us if we want the bill? And we said we still eating but again she repeated so thats all should i get u the bill now and then she tried to take the plates but we stopped her as there was still food. Even the table next to us were treated the same horrible service by her. She came and gave us the bill which i cleared without questioning and when i asked for the magic stamp for the rewards as ive eaten at other branches before she said there no the kitchen is closed.

I said i want the stamp for rewards not cause i want to order something she than said no there is no point of collecting the stamps you cant do anything with it and cant order now. I again said i just need the stamp done as i go to other branches so she unhappily removed it from her pouch and stamped the device which took less than a second and just walked away...

I have worked in customer service for about 15 years but never in my life have i seen such service. I will never be visiting or recommending this branch ever again... And i really wish i had asked to cancel the service charge and this staff be provided with feedback and thought proper customer service etiquette!!!

She didnt have a name tag and wasnt mentioned on the bill but there were just two staff tonight that we saw there and she was the tall one with glasses with...

I've been going to Tower Hill Bodeans for about 13 years now. It's one of my favourite places to eat if what I want is meat. And I live outside of London, so it's quiet a journey to get there.

The atmosphere tends towards being moderate to loud. So if you want a quiet dining experience this probably isn't the place for you. That said I prefer quiet, but I still come here for the food.

A couple of years back they stopped doing one of my favourite dishes - the Jacobs Ladder Beef Rib. Getting a good beef rib in the UK can be hard. So having that disappear was truly sad times. HOWEVER! IT HAS RETURNED! And I think it's even larger than it used to be. And it was absolutely delicious.

On the other hand, the burnt ends used to be amazing. But this last time we went, now they're relegated to being a side rather than a meal of their own? And with no sauce?

They were a bit sad honestly? Not as good as they used to be. Sincerely hoping even if they remain a side that they recover some of their former glory. It would have been a solid 5 star overall rating if not for this. I'm over stating it a little I think. They were still nice meaty cubes. But yea... Not quite as special as previously.

I also had the poutine. It was very nice. But with everything else I had... It was a bit too much food. I ate it all of course... But my stomach has not been happy with the abuse I put it through today.

Would I do it again? Possibly. But next time I'll probably drop one of those dishes to make it a bit more of a relaxed affair.

Note however, that this is a 12.5% service charge auto added place. I've heard... Rumours... About this. Let's just say if you want to give them something you know is going to them,...
