Where to start- it was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a local Buckhead restaurant.
The host stand was empty. After waiting a while someone on the wait staff yelled down at us that it was open seating and we could pick any table. While maybe 7 tables were seated most of the extra tables had yet to be bussed/ littered with discarded dishes. We found an empty table and sat. The waiter was bringing two cups of coffee to the table next to us but they had already been served coffee so he dropped it off at our table (only to later charge us for coffee we hadn’t ordered)
I asked if they had fresh squeezed OJ the waiter excitedly said yes but brought be out a glass that tasted store bought & I later found out was Natalies (great OJ but definitely NOT fresh squeezed so that was a bummer)
We ordered two simple omelettes and were given the choice of three toppings each. When the omelette were brought out the toppings we had chosen had been swapped. I was given one with bacon (which I can’t eat because of dietary restrictions) And my husband was given one with onions which he just really doesn’t like. He ate his but I sadly had to send mine back. The replacement omelette took so long that my husband had long finished his food even after waiting a while so we could eat together.
My omelette was over cooked and underwhelming. The flavors were subpar which would be fine at a Waffle House but I’ve honestly also had better eggs at Waffle House and not paid half as much for them.
All around a disappointing experience.
Took these photos because I thought the space was cute but ironically they capture all the un-bussed tables and out wait at...
Read moreExcellent hotel restaurant. Fine dining for evening; tasty usuals for breakfast. Highly recommended. My spouse and I had a fantastic first, (second, and third!) experience with this restaurant. The evening dinner service was classy and well presented by our server, Collin. We chose the Cornish Chicken dish, the Magret Duck dish, and side dishes of mushrooms, and asparagus. The meal didn't disappoint! It's higher end and probably more geared toward special occasions or date night, rather than family outings. The bartender, Andrew, was enthusiastic and eager to keep all the customers happy. The staff is great and really adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. In the morning, we decided to return for a quick Everything bagel with salmon. That too was quite good, although it did come with cucumbers, which weren't described on the menu as part of the sandwich. No problem for us, but we'd recommend checking to ensure there aren't other off menu ingredients, if you're a more particular guest. The following morning, we returned again, this time for the scrambled egg sandwich with Bacon. Very very good. It's amazing how small touches, like the pepper aioli can make a simple item shine. The bacon at this restaurant is memorable. I encourage you to try it! The danishes, muffins, & other pastry items are very good, as well. Aster, at the bar in the mornings was fun and engaging. Passing the time during the small wait for our breakfast items was easy with her! Overall, loved this restaurant. We are eager...
Read moreUpdate: downgrading from four stars to two stars. I really like the place about a year ago and went there with a friend last night. I ordered the prime rib special and it came cold. They brought it back into the kitchen and as best I can tell poured sauce on it and I got back the same cold meat. They did take it off my bill which I think is pretty standard and I appreciated it. They offered to send me a to-go box with the prime rib and I demurred. I don't go to a nice restaurant to have things taken off my bill. I do expect my entree to be warm. --++ Had dinner with a friend here last night. The ambiance is excellent. It's classic old school with a modern hint to it. The dining room is not so large so you get an intimate feel. Their tables that are like u-shaped couches. So great for dates or groups of threes.
What I like best about this place is to service in the personality. It seems everyone from the hostess to the bartender to the server had a nice humor about them. For example, the bread they brought is called bougie bread. Another example, their cocktail drink has a section that ends with AF.
As for the food, it's pretty good but not spectacular. The pate was a little too hard and needed to sit at room temperature a while longer. The hamachi was good but the sauce overpowered to flavor to fish. My scallops were kind of small but cooked perfectly, albeit a little too much salt.
I would come back here for the ambiance and service, and try...
