I went here on a Tuesday around 4 pm, There was only one. party a table of maybe 8 in the restaurant. We were seated given menu’s but was not asked can i start you with anything there was literally 3-4 waiters/waitresses standing at the station behind the booth looking lost , looking in our direction but not coming to our table. Mind you there was only 4 booths and we were in the third one from the station they were all standing at. I had to say excuse me is anyone going to help us for us to come. The waiter apologized and took our drink order and got us our app rather quickly. There was one waitress that i found it odd that she looked directly at us just me and my mom and my toddler and then acted like she didn’t see us. she was at the bar looking around and talking to the bartender prior to us getting help from the male waiter. My sons jacket fell and i only knew because i caught her looking down at it but she never said a thing or even tried to pick it up. As soon as another parent of 2 came in she ran over to their table to help them and to help when another party came and sat at the other booth behind us.Some of the staff neeeds better training. The bartender washes her hands then proceeded to continuously move her hair behind her ears then made a drink for someone, then she tasted sometjnt with her fingers and put the straw in a container that was on the counter ,never washing her hands proceeded to make drinks. touching everything with the same saliva fingers. The real icinf on the cake is a small crawling baby roach was crawling across the table i smashed it on my hand to stop it and called for a manager his first response was it must of come from outside ( the patio doors were closed) he says what would you like me to get to help you duh a napkin brings a napkin takes it once i wipe my hand and just says sorry and walks off. There is potential but the details are being overlooked the booth sits are filled with crumbs which is why they probably have bug issues..Tjr margaritas were tasty and the one taco i had was ok , but after that bug i didn’t want anything else.My mom had 2 tacos and said they were tasty i also ordered a kids meal and my son wouldn’t eat it it was just chicken tenders and rice it came with a pretty decent portion and included a drinks The sprite tasty nasty like the filter needs to be changed on the soda machine. I...

Read moreFourth star for daily specials and happy hour that keep me coming back. Otherwise, a perfectly cromulent corporate chain serving Mexican-American-inspired American food thrown together from building blocks.
This is the kind of place where a fresh bartender might show a flash of life before being ground into a homogenous paste by the controlling restaurant group. The kind of place where your tender might make it just a little too obvious that they’re just there to punch the clock. Go on a Monday afternoon and you might get a dirty bar and a “Uh you ordered food, right? Uh what was it?”
The five years that I spent in Houston make me pained to see these taco prices, but I’m just an old man dreaming about the past. I have serious doubts about the alcohol content of their cheap margarita specials 😒 but maybe I’m just a lush 😏.
Tacos: 7/10 Good (gringo-azz) tacos, free of slimy grease (or homestyle juices), quality ingredients combined hastily, staged with care on a sometimes dirty bar. The fried fish and fried chicken are well-executed and the toppings and dressings are a nice addition. There’s a bit of a “building-block” feel, but, this is Mexican-American after all.
Quesadilla chicken: 4/10 Clear ingredients, but short on flavor and lacking in cohesive strategy. An amalgamation of straightforward combinable parts with no grand vision further than padding out the menu. Not Tex-Mex cheese level 😔
Tot Girl Summer (Happy Hour Menu): 8/10: Unabashedly cheap and slutty and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. When you want all of the sin of food truck gnosh while being able to sit down. And it’s not particularly greasy; the fat’s more from the queso, which is good enough to make your tongue involuntarily search the last of your mouth for. The Happy Hour price can’t be beat.
Guacamole: 6/10 Not the best. This is the weirdest thing — there’s not ENOUGH filler in here. The bartender immediately agreed and said that he...
