I love historical Baltimore, so my husband took me to the LB Tavern for our wedding anniversary for some drinks, dinner, and a little bit of sightseeing. Thinking the city wouldn't be too busy on a Wednesday night, we were totally wrong. Unbeknownst to us, the KISS concert fell on the same evening at the CFG Bank Arena, which is located right around the corner from the hotel. As a result, the traffic and parking made things a little stressful for us. When we finally entered the hotel lobby, we were greeted by a crowd of KISS fans enjoying their pre-show food and drinks. As we made our way to the bar, we noticed that there was only one person manning the entire fully packed bar solo, which made us question if we should stay. Before we could even decide, the bartender quickly greeted us and patiently took our orders. Despite the business of the bar, my husband and I were really happy that we stayed because our bartender, Nick was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable of the food and beverage menu. His cocktails were very good, as well! Once the crowd broke, my husband and I were able to truly enjoy our anniversary and our first-time experience at the LB Tavern. My husband and I are not unfamiliar with the restaurant industry, so we know it can be challenging to find restaurant staff who can make a positive impact on an experience. By the time we closed out, we were very satisfied with the all around experience at the LB Tavern, and very appreciative of Nick's service. My husband and I look forward to returning and hopefully getting to stay for a night at the...
Read moreMy wife and I had an unfortunately bad experience — slow kitchen, bad food, bad cocktails.
First, we had a margarita and old fashioned that weren’t enjoyable. The appetizer we ordered didn’t come out for 40 minutes and then all our food came out a couple minutes later. The soft pretzel appetizer was overdone and the beer cheese just seemed like nacho cheese. We had a BLT with no tomato and the least flavorful bacon we’ve ever had. The breading on the fish and chips was also overdone and thick - hard to cut through.
Our server was friendly and aware of the kitchen being slow. We don’t blame him for the experience, but the food and drink was pretty bad overall. We were very surprised and felt we had wasted a lot of money there.
EDIT: I contacted the manager who replied to this review, and they sent me a very generous coupon to try the experience again (including hotel, food, valet). It was generous, and the manager was very responsive. In November 2025, we stayed the night and had a meal at LB Tavern. A greatly improved experience -- food and cocktails were all very good, and the waiter (Ray) was exceptional. He was friendly, helpful and even made the cocktails. The stay was nice too. Happy to modify this review to...
Read moreI had a late dinner here while staying at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. I appreciated that it was open somewhat late on a weeknight. The tables are serviced by the bar tenders and they did a great job that night. I was (at first) the only diner in there and worried that I might be impositioning them, but they were great... and more diners came later! The menu is sort of extensive for a hotel bar open late. I opted for the burger since it seemed easy on them. I also got the fries which were if fries dressed up as nachos! The fries were ok, the fries themselves seemed like straight from frozen, just undercooked and mealy. The toppings on the fries were very good, including the plastic cheese. The burger was excellent and had a great charred flavor, the cheese and toppings were fresh. The side salad was generous and fresh, too. Of course a full bar is available, and I had a great...
