Never had a bad experience here. Service is pretty good. I just get pizza so I can only speak on that food wise. One of the better NY style pizza places in Charlotte. I usually go when it isn't packed, it's a nice place to sit in and eat.
---Above was the review I made three years ago. It is now three years later and I am updating my review based on my experience today, which will be below.---
Today on May 10, 2025 I called in a pickup order at 4:40pm. I was told it will be ready in 20 minutes. I got to this location around 5:10pm. I said that I called in a pickup order, and then I paid for the order. Now, you would think that my food would be ready and I would be out the door. I sat in there until about 5:30pm, finally the person who took my payment called out a wrong order of two slices to me. Then she asked what was I waiting on and that I have been in the store for awhile.
This is the same person who took my payment once again. She asked for my name when I came in to pickup. The entire time it was there above the pizza oven. It was ready when I came in. This employee didn't bother checking if my order was ready when I came in. She was busy talking to other co-workers the whole time. When I got the food it was cold.
I was going to ask refund, but I thought it would be better to come on here and give a review so that people are aware of how employees do business here. It is hard to support a local business when they don't know how to treat customers. When you make a mistake, you should do what you can to make the customer whole. In other words, try to keep the customer so that they don't make reviews like this. I tipped 20% which I will not be making that mistake again.
Let's talk about policies changes so that this doesn't happen again. If a customer comes in saying they are picking up an order the employees should check and see if the orders are ready. This employee did not do that.
Limit personal (non-work related) conversations and phone usage. This will help avoid distractions.
How can we keep the customer? You could offer a certain percentage off, free appetizers or something.
If you want better service, I would recommend going to Why Not Pizza. I have never had a bad ordering experience with them. If you order online you will get a text saying when your...
Read moreTheir pizza is OK. One of the better crusts in the area. Not strictly a half-wasted-student dive, a couple of shades above that. We've been buying pizza here occasionally for a few years. I recently tried the spaghetti and it wasn't terrible. So I tried it again on the last trip. It's probably orderable , considering the price , but still just slightly above what you'd expect at a college student type place. My complaint is that on our recent visit I picked up a pizza with pepperoni , hamburger and green peppers. I checked the spaghetti but not the pizza. When I got home, we discovered no green pepper! If I hadn't paid extra for it, No big deal . But I DID pay extra, and everyone at home heard the speakerphone when the gal repeated, green bell pepper . So no communication error either, not on our end. So I called the place and spoke to supposedly, the manager. He promised to credit my card for $4. But a week later, no credit. So, if you get a wrong order, don't expect them to make it right unless you go back down there. I was planning to order a pizza again this weekend and just try to work it out with them, but the girlfriend says, Nope, were not going there. So I suppose I'll just have to make a special trip to try and get my credit. Or dispute it with Visa. Check your order before leaving!! Don't do what I did. As Deadpool...
Read moreThis is like my third time at this location over a long period of time. The pizza was very good, and the 16" is huge, but it had nowhere near enough toppings to be charging $1.75 a topping. I had sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions on mine. The wife had a 16" veggie with chicken pizza, and the kid had a 16" pepperoni and onion. None of the pizzas were cut clean. I'm glad I have 3 pizza cutters. We also had lemon pepper wings and BBQ wings, and you can order all flats if you want, which is pretty cool. The wings were ok size, flavored ok, and not overcooked. I wish places would call wings, wing pieces, or wingettes. A wing has 3 pieces, a drum, a flat, and a tip. The total was $90.77. OUCH! It would have been totally worth it because the size of the 16" pizzas could feed 4 people, but the lack of toppings made me feel very cheated.
2/6/2025 This time, I ordered a half steak and cheese sub with provolone, mayo, extra fried onions, and extra tomatoes. They must have forgotten about the extra because I could barely see or taste the onions or tomatoes. The sub was still good, but it would have been very good if I had gotten what I asked for. I will come back and try a sub again and see if they can get it right. There was only 1 bathroom working when I was there. It was well stocked, but it needed some...
