I was very excited about this place. Here are the facts. I arrived around 10 after 8:00 in the morning. I didn't think they were open. I knocked on the door when a lone gentleman stood up behind the bar and said they were open. It was a beautiful morning and I like the area they have for dining outside so I sat outside. The only employee I saw was extremely helpful and well-mannered and well groomed and took total care of me from beginning to end. I tried to order the heirloom tomato salad but they were out of those tomatoes so I got the avocado toast instead. Chattanooga is a sea, abundant in a wide variety of interpretations of this new current healthy breakfast choice. And avocado toast here is by far the best one I've had. In fact the egg was cooked perfectly over medium just as I asked which is hard to find in this town, a perfectly cooked egg. I know that might sound silly but as a former lead line cook for one of the busiest breakfast places in Nashville, correctly cooked eggs say a lot about a place. So you're probably wondering why I gave it four stars and that's because the lack of a lively atmosphere. The reason I like breakfast restaurants is that there tends to be an excitement or a buzz or just an industrious atmosphere that's lively and encourages getting work done There's nothing indicating this place was open this morning and if people are not showing up in the morning it's not because the food or service, it's probably because it looks like they're not open and nobody else is there. And I hate that for this place because the food and service deserves a better atmosphere. So please do give this place a try but I also understand if you skip over it. I'm going to check out their lunch this week....

First of all, the portions are all appropriate and not ridiculous. I left satisfied and didn’t have to leave with a to-go container of left over food I didn’t actually like enough to eat later. We ate every crumb.
We started off with beignets…that really set the tone for the morning. They were PERFECT. Do yourself a favor and try them. Perfect squares, plated on a drizzle of fruit compote goodness, and an appropriate dusting of powdered sugar. Wow. I got nothin more to say about that.
Ok I got the biscuits and gravy and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I did ask for over-medium but the egg arrived over-easy. Not a big issue for me since I don’t mind my eggs runny, but I know it would be an issue for others. I got a side of fruit which was above average. I hate the cantaloupe/grape/orange low-effort fruit cups that other restaurants serve.
My friend got the egg/cheese sandwich on sourdough and a side of potatoes. Those potatoes were the MOST flavored, perfectly fried, delicious side of potatoes I’ve tasted. YUM.
Other friend got the Nashville hot chicken biscuit and wow. I got a taste of that too and the chicken WASNT DRY, the breading thick, and the spice-level was perfect. I mean seriously. Oh and he got a side of eggs that arrived as he ordered.
Overall, will be back. Happy we came here instead of the basic chain brunch...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place! However, first impressions were not great. Food wasn't bad. Actually quite promising. My issue was with the service and inconsistencies of the portions. First ordered a hot chocolate for my daughter and the cup was less than half full. Asked our waitress about it and she simply stated that's the way it comes. While dissappointedly sipping an overpriced hot chocolate we observed other patrons food coming out. My daughter immediately spotted the chicken biscuit. It was huge! 2 thick pieces of fried chicken stuffed between a bun sized biscuit generously topped with apple butter and hot sauce. Looked amazing! We ordered to share as we noticed most patrons couldn't finish it entirely. 30 minutes later we were presented with a saddest little chicken biscuit 😢. Single layered with maybe a teaspoon of toppings on a flattened biscuit. Looked nothing at all like the 3 biscuits we witnessed moments earlier. Asked our server if the owner was in today to talk about our experience. She told us he was and proceeded to go get him. She returned and said that he was too busy to talk to us! Instead a manager came over to the table but did absolutely nothing to try to rectify the situation. So we left with overall dissatisfaction and disappointment. Might give Kenny's another try if he's...
