I think this is my first ever sub 3 star restaurant review. I hate to do it as we desperately want downtown to thrive, but here we are.
Went for lunch yesterday, a Sunday There were about 8 others in the whole restaurant. As far as I can tell, the only person working the front was the bartender. There were two others out front but I didn't see them do anything to help. Despite this very low occupancy at the time, it took us about 20 minutes to get the order in. Totally cool, it was hot out and we were in no rush.
I ordered the chimi burger ( sub portabella instead of beef) and my wife ordered the salmon wntree and a salad. Food comes out. Her salad is wrong, her side is missing and over half of her salmon was raw raw.
My mushroom burger arrived sans portabella mushrooms and with two burger patties. Given the number of errors and our concern the place was already losing money rapidly, we decided it wasn't worth making a big deal about it.
We probably should have complained more, but at that point we didn't care to have any replacements or fixes from the kitchen.
On the plus side, my wife said she really liked their steamed broccoli. On the other hand, I think steamed broccoli for over $40 is criminal.
I sincerely hope you...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try Pat & Gracie’s for a Saturday day date, and overall it was a nice experience. The service stood out — our server was friendly, polite, and very attentive without being overbearing.
We started with the fried pickles and wings for appetizers. The fried pickles were made with bread and butter pickles, which gave them a sweeter flavor than I prefer — I tend to like a little more tang and salt — but they were still crispy and well-cooked. The wings, on the other hand, were a hit: juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly with a good balance of seasoning.
For our main course, I ordered the Smokehouse BBQ Burger, and my husband went with the Build Your Own Burger. Both burgers were hearty and satisfying, with fresh toppings and buns that held up well. The BBQ sauce on mine added a nice smoky sweetness, and my husband enjoyed being able to customize his.
Since we went early in the afternoon, the atmosphere was fairly low-key — not crowded or loud, just a relaxed and easy vibe. I imagine it has a livelier energy in the evenings when the bar area fills up.
We’ll definitely give Pat & Gracie’s another try, probably on a weekend evening, to enjoy the full ambiance and maybe explore more of their...
Read moreI went to Pat and Gracie's downtown on a Sunday afternoon with a buddy of mine. I like the atmosphere and the hostess was professional.
We are seated and the waiter comes over and I am immediately put off by his rude and sarcastic attitude. He kept addressing myself and my 30 year old buddy as "kids, kiddos". We ordered drinks and he didn't check our ID's. I ordered a bloody Mary and he asked "spicy?" I said, "yes." He said "Spicy, just like you. Got it." It was so uncomfortable, unprofessional and rude. He didn't make an advance towards my white buddy. Why was this white waiter speaking to me like this. Was it because I'm Indian? Maybe he was just racist. If so, thats disgusting. We were so confused as to why this waiter felt he could say that. Neither of us will be returning.
The food was good, the atmosphere was good and the hostess was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, this waiter ruined our experience.
Please do better, Patt...
