(Destin FL location) Food was nasty. We ordered the Brisket Nachos. Came out looking like someone just threw some stale Publix Brand Tortilla chips on a plate, sprinkled a little bit of tomatoes and a few little chunks of brisket and then grabbed a big ol' spoon, poured whatever sauce that was supposed to be (lime sour cream? what even is that?) then popped it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. I had about 3 chips when it came out. Stale chips + that sauce? = bad combination. For my meal, I ordered the "build your own" burger. I didn't want anything too spectacular, just the burger. When it came out, it was exactly the same as what my son had, which was the kid's cheeseburger. Same size, same amount of fries, same everything. Except mine was closer to $12.00 while the kid's price was about $6... Same exact food. The burger itself was a frozen patty. It had the classic shape of a cookie cutter patty. You know, the kind that are piled in a box and located in the freezer section of the grocery store? It had no flavor. None... at all. The only flavor that came off of that burger was from the ketchup that I had put on it. My husband's burger was dripping with grease. His bun was soaked and as soggy as a wet rag. His meal was closer to $13.00.
We will never come back. We're locals and just happened to be out shopping at the commons before the big rush of tourist season hits and figured we would try this place out, seeing as how it was right there and all. If the prices were cheaper, I wouldn't have even bothered with a review. But it annoys me that a place like this is charging way too much for basically garbage on a plate (profit quality).
My advice for those of you who plan on visiting the area? If you want cheap food (like food that tastes like cheap $%^%$%), save yourself some money and go hit up the McDonalds Dollar Menu. Or better yet, hit up Wendy's. At least their burgers have some flavor. But if you are in the market to spend some $$$ on lunch or dinner, do some research before hand and avoid this establishment. Destin and FWB have a lot of hidden gems that have real chefs that actually create meals out of the love for food. You'll be paying about the same price anyways.
This place was so...
Read moreWent here around lunchtime on a weekday in the summer. We had a good amount of people in our party. We had a Groupon deal for bowling and two pitchers of drinks. The lady at the counter for the bowling was extremely rude and had no customer service skills. Her name is Amanda. Avoid her if you can. We had an hour estimated wait for our one lane. Close to that time, the head of our party was waiting BY THE BOWLING DESK for her to call us. The noise and music level in this place is very loud and we did not hear the phone ring. We did not know that were calling us for our turn EVEN THOUGH WE WERE RIGHT THERE. So Crabby Pants gives our spot to the next party and we have to wait a little longer. Not cool.
Once we were bowling, things were mostly ok. They put a family next to us that had a child that wanted to press the buttons on our control pad and interrupted our game. Since she didn't make him stop, I firmly (but politely) told him that he is not allowed to touch this one because it is not his. I know I startled him and his mother gave me a dirty look. Other than that, we didn't have any problems from them.
We ordered a couple appetizers and they were OK. We ordered the soft pretzels and the cheese curds. The pretzels were supposed to come with a seasoned cheese sauce and mustard. The cheese sauce was ok but a little gritty. I had to ask someone to bring me mustard because it was forgotten. The mustard was really freaking good. The cheese curds were good but kind of skimpy for the price. The dipping sauce with those is really good, too.
The draft Blue Moon is ok, the carbonation on the Coke was a little lacking but drinkable.
The lanes are not typical wood lanes. They're really slick and kind of odd. The ball selection is good and the shoes are not nasty.
I have to say that even though that Amanda is a grouch, Keith was really nice and good to us. His kindness and good personality really stood out to us. The bartender guy was nice, too.
Overall, I am thankful we did not pay full price for this. I would consider coming back if I could get a similar deal. I certainly would not come for the arcade but I'd consider...
Read moreI was skeptical at first, not the best reviews. However, we were hungry with 2 hungry toddlers.
While the atmosphere was pleasing, the service was not. I don’t know if our server was on his first day, but he was super timid. Almost afraid to interact with his customers. While a drink was knocked over and was spilling all over my 2 yr old and the napkins we had on our table were already wet he said he would bring us some more but stood there as the drink continued to spill off the table onto my 2 yr old. Waiting on what we wanted to order. At that point I was dissatisfied. Finally after I realized he wasn’t running off to get us more napkins I looked at the menu and decided on a burger and asked what the house sauce tasted like, then decided to get that and asked to add mushrooms. Our food came after the waiter nervously came back to our table for the 5th time. One person ordered a steak sandwich and then he handed me the same thing. I told him I ordered the burger because I asked about the sauce which I reminded him about and the mushroom addition. Which BTW were not even on my cheese steak. I’m from Philly, I never order a steak sandwich to only be disappointed. He nervously apologized and said it would take some time for the burger which there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant to order after us!
We got our (hefty) check and the mushrooms were on the bill. We left a 10% tip, because you don’t leave nothing. And we left, angry, and will never go back. Maybe it was our waiters first day, but with each interaction he seemed nervous with everything, even before the drink spilled all over my toddler. The rest of the food was plain as well, chicken for kids, Mac and cheese was like kraft, exactly like kraft. Other cheese steak was only half eaten, and the boar burger was over cooked and not...
