Barbecue, beach and beer is an enticing feature for any restaurant. Karma says begin with the positives. Nice location on the Coronado Ferry Landing. 1. All seating is outdoor but there is covered seatng in the main section of the eatery, a few high tables with stool seating on the patio and side seating by the pond. And of course, you can eat anywhere on the boardwalk or beach or grassy area. 2..Happy Hour is everyday including weekends from 3-6 with half to less than half priced appetizers and beers 3. Authentic full jalapeno poppers stuffed with hickory seasoned cream cheese and wrapped in crisp bacon. These poppers are unbreaded and can range from mild to spicy because these are real deal medium sized jalapeno. 4. Pork sliders were dry but the sauce and sweet rolls with crunch coleslaw made them tasty. On the other side of the coin, If you are craving barbecue and know the culture of cueing, flavors, smoke etc., you will not receive it here. I remember eating here years ago and forgot how disappointed and waste of financial resources I spent. Five years later, I am re-enlightened. If you are truly a connoisseur of cue, this place is overpriced and underwhelming. Even the fries are only dipped in oil and left unseasoned with nada. If you can't make fries, everything else is a done da-da. If you are compelled to be persuaded to eat here, come during happy hour or choose the kids meal to get sampling. It's all the same meat right? And the brisket chili. There are so many recipes that can be adopted there is no reason for the chili to taste like brisket stirred in tomato paste. Heck, my chili would bring them droves of crowds and I'm willing Lil' Piggy if you want to dance. Ummm, chili powder is actually supposed to be in chili. I took two spoonfuls and the rest was unfortunately wasted. Excellent barbecue in San Diego if hard to find so I can't even provide a recommendation.

Check it out. I've been to barbeque places all over the South and in the States that are known for their barbeque. I have to say, this place is as good or, arguably, better than any of those other places. Went with my Sister and Mom. We ordered the combo platter, 2 meat platter and I had the brisket chili stuffed potato. The cheese sauce (for the potato) is made in house with 4 cheese blend. It's so creamy and delicious, also carrying through that smoked flavor. The chicken was delicious and not dry at all, in fact quite the opposite. Gorgeous smoke ring on the brisket. I will say, hands down, best brisket I have ever eaten! It was soo tender and juicy. The ribs were fall off the bone. The house Mac and cheese is crave worthy. Then there's the View. Great views of the ocean and just steps away from the Ferry. You would be doing yourself a great injustice if you missed out on the spicy barbeque sauce. It. Is. Phenomenal! It was $108 and change for the 3 of us so expect to shell out but remeber, you get what you pay for. 5+ stars

I stopped by this spot for some BBQ and tried their Pig Out Platter combo, which includes two meats and two sides. Since I’m big on protein, I added an extra meat, opting for two servings of beef brisket and an order of ribs. For my sides, I chose the mac & cheese and the smoked mac salad. They offer a solid variety of meats like pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs, plus sandwiches and burgers. There’s also a good selection of canned beers and seltzers to pair with your meal. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Half of my brisket was tender, but lacked seasoning. The other half of the beef ribs were unfortunately overcooked and quite dry. The mac & cheese was just okay, and the smoked mac salad didn’t have much flavor. Overall, it was still a good experience. The vibe and variety are there, but the flavor could use a boost. A little more seasoning and attention to doneness would go a long way in making this place stand out.

Places to have great barbecue you would walk up he would have a seed they had a menu they brought the food it was really delicious good barbecue good service then a few months later they change the whole format decided they didn't want people to be waited on anymore it's stand in line you order your food they literally charge you extra for sauce extra for butter extra for salt and pepper and then they charge for everything we tried to get in line we had an Entertainment coupon which was a brand new book we were there in January we're from Orange County we don't drive to Coronado to try to use a gift card voucher from entertainment on the phone if we had already been there but they didn't honor it told us it showed that it already been used that's because the person that had taken our order try to redeem it they were so lame the management said we're not taking it it's a Sunday call and see if you can figure it out with them of course entertainment guy does not open on Sunday so we drove from our local place in San Diego so we could go to this little barbecue place and they literally just refused her service we looked at some of the portions on the way out and really glad we didn't stay somebody looks like they got what appeared to be a quarter rack of ribs and a quarter of a chicken which they were charging 1999 for with a small little piece of cornbread but if you wanted honey or butter it was extra I mean I guess maybe they'll be showing signs of going out of business soon unfortunately their management is what makes people want to walk away and not come back I'll never go back and we have been there a few...

The atmosphere is awesome because you can see the San Diego skyline, but that is the only plus. The food is mediocre if that. There are definitely other BBQ spots in San Diego to visit. I had the 2 choice meal with ribs, brisket, slices of white bread, beans and coleslaw. My meal was cold, the brisket tasted like it was sitting on a counter for awhile. The ribs were soft but tasted like it was baked and not smoke. My BBQ beans were good because there were shredded pieces of pork in it. The coleslaw didn't taste like anything. it was if they quickly tossed the slaw mixture in the slaw sauce, not as if it was marinating in the slaw sauce. We also ordered fried pickles which I guess if it were your thing you'd enjoy it. service was non-existent. it took awhile for her to ask us for drinks, enough time passed that being first time customers we knew what we wanted to order after reading through the menu several times. after bringing us our meals she didn't come back at all until we called her over to ask for something. She brought the item and didn't come back again until we finally asked for the check. If you are in search of good BBQ in San Diego there are definitely other options. if you are searching for restaurants in the area there are definitely...
