I recently visited a pizzeria I used to frequent as a teenager, hoping to enjoy the same experience I remembered from years ago. Unfortunately, my visit this time was disappointing. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza. Although the owner mentioned there was a fresh pepperoni pizza available in the back, the employee instead served me two old slices from the display. These slices were noticeably dried out, lacking cheese and sauce, and had visible patches. Despite paying full price, I was handed slices that clearly had been sitting for hours. I politely asked for one slice to be replaced, explaining that the quality was unacceptable. The owner did replace one slice without issue, but chose to defend the employee’s decision. He explained that the oven reaches 1,000 degrees and that mozzarella often burns. I clarified that the problem wasn’t burnt cheese—it was that the slices were old, dried out, and poorly prepared. The owner then compared the situation to accidents in business, even remarking that he hoped I didn’t “drop anything” in my moving company. While I appreciated that he replaced one slice, this unnecessary comment felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a longtime customer, I expected respect—not to be belittled while voicing a reasonable concern. Ultimately, what began as a chance to relive some nostalgia turned into a disappointing experience. The atmosphere was poor, the employee was unhelpful, and the service was soured by inappropriate remarks. I left feeling that my loyalty as a customer, as well as my simple request for fresh food, was not valued. For these reasons, I can no longer recommend this establishment. Customers deserve quality food and respectful service—nothing more,...

Carmine's Pizza Downtown Dallas: A Slice of Perfection! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re on the hunt for the best pizza in Dallas, look no further than Carmine’s Pizza Downtown! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the delicious food. The decor has a charming, rustic vibe that makes you feel right at home.

The star of the show, of course, is the pizza. I ordered the classic Margherita, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The crust was perfectly crispy yet chewy, with just the right amount of char that added depth to every bite. The fresh mozzarella was creamy and melted beautifully, and the basil gave it that authentic touch. Each slice was a delightful balance of flavors, and I couldn't help but go back for seconds!

I also had the pleasure of trying their pepperoni pizza, which was equally impressive. Generous portions of high-quality pepperoni topped with a rich, zesty sauce made it a crowd-pleaser. You can tell that Carmine’s uses only the freshest ingredients, and it truly makes a difference.

The service was exceptional as well.

Overall, Carmine’s Pizza Downtown is a must-visit for pizza lovers. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a slice to go, you won’t be disappointed. With its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service, it’s no wonder this place has earned a five-star rating in my book! I can’t wait to return and try more of their offerings. Bravo,...

Let’s start off by me telling the lady at the front that I own a pizzeria so make sure he gives me his best. She half laughs at me, takes my order and walks off

NICE location! Easy to get to! Walking distance from almost anything. But that’s about it
.

Place is DIRTY. I even got trapped in the bathroom corridor. I couldn’t even close the bathroom door because it appeared to be stuck on the floor, like it needed to be adjusted up to allow it to open and close freely. But then when I came out, apparently one of the workers were in another part of the place and when that door gets opened, it seals off the bathroom corridor. After getting his attention I was finally able to get out.

I ordered the 20inch meatlovers. Man, I was super exited to try this thing, it LOOKED delicious. Well, let’s just say, looks are deceiving. This was clearly a “catfish” situation. She said she was 5’9 and looked like (whoever you find very attractive) but when she got there
 NOT SO MUCH.

-The crust tasted like, what I’m sure eating the box it came in would taste like. No flavor at all. -No sauce. With a pizza this big, there’s GOT to be sauce on it right? Nope. Very little around the crust but that’s it! -Toppings were all crumbled, which I like, but no flavor there either. You have the textures off all the toppings but no flavor or anything.

Hard pass for me....

Decided to dine in at Carmine's Pizzeria as it was one of the few "casual" places still open. The pizza was solid, though to be fair, I came close to closing time, which probably affected the freshness. The potential is definitely there, and at $4 a slice, it's not bad at all. It's in the ballpark of NYC pizza, just not quite as good, but hey, it's Dallas. I also tried the pasta dishes. The chicken alfredo was super saucy, which I loved, but unfortunately the chicken itself was pretty dry. The lasagna, on the other hand, was absolute gas.. so good and so saucy, honestly might be one of the best lasagna I've ever had. Only minor complaint is there were these hard chunks of what I assume were dried bay leaves stuck throughout the sauce that you kind of have to pick out while eating. The pasta pricing is pretty fair but some places do offer bigger portions. Would absolutely go again just for the lasagna!!
