Rachel gave the WORST service i've ever had. we had ONE bottle of water the ENTIRE time for 3 people. she did not ask us if we wanted more in the ENTIRE 2.5 hours we were there (the only bottle of water we had and our glasses were empty for more than an hour) she actively checked on the 3 other tables around us quite frequently, the MANAGER was at our table more times than her.
when dropping off anything (if she was even the one dropping it off) would leave silently before we even had the chance to ask for more water or anything else... she would pass by and look at us and keep walking. literally never checked on us. so annoying because she was checking the other 3 tables every few minutes.
after waiting 30 minutes to get her to stop to talk to us to order the dessert it took another 30 minutes to actually get the dessert (which she placed on the table and literally ran away??? tried to ask her for water) we waited ANOTHER 30 minutes for the CHANCE to ask her for the check. that took LITERALLY 2 seconds. just a really disappointing experience for the amount of money spent and even more disappointing watching 3 feet away from us ALL of her other tables were getting awesome service from her. don't think i'd ever come back due to the service received, food was good but not good enough to make up for the abysmal service. ONE regular sized bottle of water for 3 people and did not get asked ONCE in 2.5 hours if we needed more water?! after it being empty and all our glasses empty for more than an hour?!
if you want the same quality sushi for the fraction of the price i totally recommend hungry belly! the service is hit or miss (still leagues better than this) but at least it's 1/2 the price and good quality!
Left this review on Yelp and owner only gave me a snarky response and no apology. Paying around $200 for a meal maybe an apology would be nice vs being blamed for the awful service! Will never ever return here and recommend you do not waste your money when there is the same quality for half the price
To the snarky reply - Hi, actually that is not what you asked! You can open the Yelp website and review what you wrote too (it isn't hard) ! :) I actually did answer. Thank you for proving my review further was your "professionalism"
GUYS PLEASE VISIT HUNGRY BELLY! TRUST ME. The service is sometimes eh but not as awful as this! Same quality half the price! Don't...
Read moreI visited here back in August, so I'm a little late (been busy) but I definitely wanted to share my experience here during restaurant week with 3 friends on a Saturday night. I'm spontaneous when it comes to dining and don't need to wait for restaurant week, but I'm always glad to help restaurants give to charity & save a couple of bucks! First, I want to say the entrance is amazing, makes you want to stay right there at the bar! It's lovely and playful at the same time, with casual yet classy seating, beautiful artwork and great lighting with wonderful windows to view our beautiful downtown. But they sat us right away so I didn't get to linger...
We weren't seated in the main dining area, which seemed pretty packed but with plenty of room for the many servers to maneuver their way from table to table. Our server, Michael, was pleasant, professional, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was busy so I appreciated his attentiveness and of the other staff who attended us. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and were all in the mood to try new things. I admit I don't recall what the others ordered, but everyone was happy. I started out with the 'after dinner' Japanese whisky, which was nice and smooth. I was disappointed to find later that they charged me $18 when it clearly stated $15 on the menu. Not cool. I started with the rock shrimp wraps, which would have been a perfect lite dinner for me. I loved them so much - the lettuce was crisp, the shrimp was tender and the mango habanero sauce was perfect. Compliments to the preparers of this wonderful splash of flavor! Next came the halibut which was well presented. All items on my plate were edible (I love fresh veggies and these were very nice). The halibut itself was flaky, moist and flavorful. The sauce here was very nice, not overpowering or intrusive to the flavor of the fish. Our dessert was presented in a lively way since it was for a birthday. If I remember correctly it was fried ice cream. I loved it. Sadly my photos of the bard area wouldn't upload so you'll have to visit! Thank you for not rushing us or ignoring us (although we did notice a small table behind us getting constant attention by several servers - I think it must be either a regular or someone important!) - this was a busy night and I appreciated the attentiveness. I'd love to visit again and sit at the bar & enjoy...
Read moreHAPPY BIRTHDAY DINNER TO ME!!! Yeeaahhhh…. I picked the right spot, at the right time. Had a couple of my closest friends join me for a little sip & chill. Liz, our server, was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu! I’m so pleased she was our server, even when I needed a booth instead of the tables. My plan was to fill the table with lots and lots of plates. First up, Green Apple Negroni. If you like jolly ranchers, go for it. But I needed something more for the table. So Sake it is. Liz knows her business, ya dig. I think it was called, Dragon God. Something God. Good is what it was overall. Her recommendations and explanations, will have you trying EVERYTHING!! The apps, on point. Like period! Spicy edamame, mushroom potstickers (might be a different menu name)- just ask Liz, she knows. Ummm.. the crab cake, I heard was winning too. So much food -just peep the pictures. The chef made me a vegetarian specialty for my rolls, beautifully made. The flowers were edible!!!! The SuperFly (🤔I think that’s the name) vegan rolls were great, those sesame seeds-like peanut butter. That’s a good thing. I can go on & on. But the dessert, my goodness. So much joy was on and at the table. I even got fireworks 💥 on top of mine. That’s 🔥 and I felt like A Birthday Queen. The service was superb. The aesthetic and decor was a nice touch. Too bad on Sunday, my plan is to go back on a Saturday and join the fun around 8 p.m. (remember the code to get in) it’s next level access 🫣 Check FB. Parking smooth - no valet on Sunday and if you park in the garage don’t leave it there to carpool to another spot because it will close. Car stuck over night. $20 for lost ticket even though you never will get one and you must wait until it opens. 🤷🏽♀️ Stick to the street. I can’t wait to go back especially since I’m the one and only ‘daughter’ to my Mother!!!! I’ll bring her when she’s in town from 615.
Note to self: Musume is on the top 5...
