Updated Review – June 27, 2025
After getting a response to my original review from The Meteor, I reached out to the email they provided. I was given a $40 gift card, which I used on my return visit.
This time, I ordered the seasonal “El Amarillo” pizza, and it was super cheesy and really tasty. I also got the Meteor Burger with fries which were honestly my favorite. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were well seasoned.
For drinks, I had the lavender matcha, which was just as good as the vanilla one I tried before. I also took the GM’s recommendation and ordered the hibiscus tea with honey. I liked it more than the green tea from last time, and although I usually prefer my tea a little sweeter, it was still good.
I still believe the food is on the pricier side, but considering the area, it makes sense.
Overall, I had a much better experience this time. I really appreciate the customer service and I’m looking forward to going back again soon.

Arguably the worst “pizza” I’ve ever had..
The Meteor is overpriced simply because of its location and vibe. It’s definitely a cute place to hangout and get some work done but the food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the Maglia Rosa pizza, which apparently only comes with a tiny sliver of cheese and is covered in flour. Eating this was like eating bread covered in sawdust and spicy marinera. Their jasmine green tea was just okay after adding 3 packets of Splenda to give it taste and their matcha latte with vanilla was probably the best thing, although it was nothing out of this world.
Very disappointed that this was my first experience. Check it out at...
Read moreI initially found this place through the espresso martini passport that @Dallasites101 offers. I knew that it was a bike shop and a café and somewhat of a bistro so I was excited to see what all that offered, but like many of the other reviewers, my experience was lackluster and did not match the description that the location has on its social media and Google maps.
When you walk in, there’s only two stools to sit at the bar. You must order your drink or food at the bar and then have a seat anywhere inside the bistro.
This is not a place that you will be able to mingle and get to know others so I don’t recommend you go alone if you’re looking to be social. The booths have high dividers and you almost feel like you’re in a cubicle. I could see how this could be a cool place for a date night or a small friend group gathering. But other than that, I don’t intend to return due to the lack of opportunity to be social and meet others.
I did not get a chance to try the food, but my espresso martini was very strong probably the strongest espresso martini I’ve had. So if your person that prefers espresso martinis on the sweeter and less strong side, I wouldn’t recommend the black cat/espresso martini.
Judging by the food menu that they offer I would suggest you take a look at it before dining at the restaurant to be sure they have something to your liking. I think this is a great place to stop in if you’re traveling or just need a quick bite or drink, but I don’t suggest this as a going out or social place.
The volume level was close to zero as no one was talking, and if they were, it was not as expected like other...

To make matters worse, I visited again with a guest and ordered food and a drink. When I went to order another drink, a server refused to serve me unless I went upstairs to grab my ID—even though I’d just ordered one, live in the building, and was clearly not underage. It wasn’t just the refusal—it was the tone. Cold, rigid, and unnecessarily dismissive. There was zero effort to handle the situation with any flexibility or basic customer care.

I was genuinely excited to move into the Urby and have a café like Meteor downstairs—seemed like the perfect setup. Unfortunately, it’s been disappointing. The food is just okay and definitely overpriced for what you get, but what really stands out (in a bad way) is the service.
I’ve been there several times and interacted with at least three different baristas, and each time I’ve been met with the same unfriendly, almost hostile attitude. No greeting, no warmth—just stone-faced, like I’m an inconvenience for ordering coffee. It’s the least welcoming coffee experience I’ve had anywhere, which is saying a lot.
I’ve started actively avoiding the place, which is a shame because the convenience is unbeatable. I hope the management seriously rethinks their approach to customer service—it matters, especially in a residential...
