Monkey Bar on 9 — Restaurant in Dallas

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was truly the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered.

From the start, our server was completely inattentive. We had to flag him down multiple times just to get basic service, and even when we managed to get his attention, he seemed in a rush to walk away before we could finish speaking or ordering. I understand if the restaurant was short-staffed that evening—but that is a management issue. If you’re going to pack the place, then staff it properly so your servers can spend more than five seconds with a table.

Then came the receipt. I reviewed it afterward and realized I was charged for four items that should have been free—we had brought in valid coupons for appetizers, which we were assured would be honored. When I called to correct the mistake, I was met with an incredibly rude and dismissive attitude. The person on the phone initially tried to gaslight me into thinking no mistake had been made. Only after I firmly stood my ground did he admit I was correct. Instead of apologizing, he offered me a gift card. I politely declined and asked for a refund—at which point he said, “You really can’t just take the gift card? It’s gonna be a lot more work on my end to get you a refund.”

He then spent several more minutes pressuring me to accept the gift card instead. When I finally insisted on a refund and asked whether I’d receive any form of confirmation, he hung up on me mid-sentence.

This experience was completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and frankly unacceptable from both the server and the manager. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled speaks volumes about how little they value their customers. Had been wanting to come and check out this Rooftop Bar for a while location is great! Parking 🅿️ is Valet ONLY Tips Only 💵 The place is clean and easy to get to. 21+ years old ONLY 👌 (good call here)

Most of the crowd is Influencers wanna be, snapping IG worthy pics and dressed as if they were going to the club, but the sky view is worth it. You’ll see guests that are staying at the hotel so that helps to balance it out. They had a live DJ and we did enjoy the music. I had the Polanco and I was not impressed 👎🍹 then after we had a couple of Mambo Taxis and you know they didn’t disappoint 👍

The restrooms are clean and well equipped. Ample sitting options… that’s a huge plus for me when visiting a place. They have couches, benches and tall tables 👌

The part we were disappointed with was that we were charged for drinks we didn’t consume. I saw the bartender go whisper to the guy who was charging us and was surprised with drinks we didn’t consume. After sending the check back and letting him know what we actually had drank he did correct it.

Girls!!! Just be watchful in case they want to take advantage of you too. Not sure I recommend this place but it’s cool to...

I really hate to leave a review like this, but I was honestly baffled. I don’t want to assume it was racially motivated, but I truly can’t think of any other explanation.

My friend and I were asked for our IDs twice by two different servers—which was fine at first. The second server walked off with them, came back 10 minutes later, and told us he couldn’t serve us. When I asked why, he vaguely said “your IDs,” without explaining the actual issue.

He eventually claimed they “weren’t scanning”—both mine and my friend’s. My friend even provided her green card, and he said the date of birth didn’t match. We pointed out that the DOB on her ID and green card did match, but he ignored that and insisted he still couldn’t serve us.

What pushed it over the edge was him saying, “Maybe next time bring your passports.” That felt incredibly dismissive and inappropriate. I asked to speak to a manager, and although she offered us a seat at the bar, she came off just as rude. At that point, we didn’t even want to stay—we no longer felt welcome or comfortable.
