Not sure how this place has a perfect score so I thought I would share my experience. Went there around 9:45AM and was mostly out of pasties, okay, I expected it since I came later. Ordered a latte and it was not great. Super bitter as if they don’t know how to pull a espresso shot and let the machine run the remaining water from the ports filter into the espresso shot glasses after the machine kicks off…ick. Couldn’t drink it so threw it out. The pastie we ordered was large and tasted okay, although the dough was extremely dry. After we ordered and sat down then additional donuts and things were brought out…what?! Thought you were “sold out”?!
The owners “decor” of mostly coffee related Hobby Lobby-esque signs are pretty cheesy. The thing that really ground my gears was their paper sign that said, “this is a no politics zone” but then had a magnet with our current president on it that says, “you can’t fix stupid”. Super poor taste and 100% hypocritical based on their posted Bible verses about putting away bad speech, etc, etc. Save your time and money for better drinks and treats down the street at the Pump House cafe.
The place is rather tiny inside and the staff seem pretty disorganized, not sure what’s going on or just overwhelmed because maybe they were short employees? Either way you’ll likely have a better experience, drinks, and...
Read moreLou Lou’s Bombdiggity is one of those tucked away treasures that you have to try when visiting Deadwood. While I don’t know their full history, it’s clearly a family run spot with mom, dad, and daughter all working together. Honestly, who doesn’t love supporting a great local family business?
What stood out the most was how kind and welcoming they were. You walk in and immediately feel like you’re being taken care of by people who love what they do and do it well.
Now let’s talk about the food. The donuts are homemade and absolutely do not disappoint. Their old fashioned donut was perfection with crisp edges, a soft inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. And the homemade Patsy (pronounced pass tee)? So good. It was hearty, flavorful, and the perfect breakfast to fuel a day of exploring. We definitely didn’t leave hungry.
This place is a little slice of warmth and comfort. Deadwood is lucky to have it and we’re lucky we found it. Can’t wait to come back next time...
Read moreWe drove through town on our vacation and unfortunately were only able to stop in here once. The cinnamon roll and caramel roll were amazing. Among the best I’ve had anywhere (and I’ve had a lot in many different places…). Also got a couple of savoury items for the road. One with meat, potatoes, sausage, cheese, etc. I forget the name but it was good. And the last item was a somewhat spicy savoury piece. Texas something. Included mild jalapeño. My wife and I both wished we could go back and get more.
As for the service, we showed up 15 minutes before closing time and felt no push to hurry up. Just genuine friendly service. Really appreciated the owner and his friendly demeanour. Great service.
The customer area is small and not ideal for groups to stay and eat but that didn’t bother us at all. It was clean, had fantastic food, and great service. If I’m ever travelling the area again,...
