Amazing. Awesome. I was lucky enough to have a manager as my bartender (Brooke) and also to sit at the bar and ask for recommendations (which I, myself, recommend). Besides being an amazing atmosphere with great beer and music, here is a list of why this brewery blew me away (when I go to local breweries as often as possible) Variety of beers - impressively well done IPAs, saisons, different forms of ageing and infusing. Help- I essentially ordered a flight entirely with the manager's help who brought me samples without me asking of beers I was simply considering putting on a flight! Amazing. Service- besides the samples, my bartender Brooke waited for me to decide on my 5 beers, change my mind, taste samples, and decide one more time before writing down my flight IN ORDER of beer from lightest to darkest that she personally recommended I taste them in (Kolsch then Hefeweizen then session Ipa then saisons then Porter) and even though I would probably have done this normally I was blown away at her specific placement and recommendation. Out of the way treatment - I was given samples and great advice on beers based on my taste, but even after I ordered my flight I was given an extra flight glass to compare to a similar beer on my flight list. So my "flight" was was not just 5 4 oz. beers, but an extra beer, several samples, recommendations based off my taste and price, and incredible service. 5 stars from someone who drinks too much craft beer, travels a lot, and has worked in the service...
Read moreI like beer and proclaim it with snobbish, spoiled, elitist beer-drinking pride. Coloradans are lucky to have so many delicious libations to choose from beyond the filthy "standards" of Coors Light and Budweiser.
The Denver Beer Co!
The place has the perfect name. The location, up the street from Proto's Pizza and Paris on the Platte, is perfect for the Platte River Valley and Highland neighborhoods. It's just a short walk from LoDo.
I have nothing negative to say about this establishment, save they could use some delicious brewery edibles made available for the patrons who are there enjoying the beer. But there are often food trucks nearby and they serve Bavarian-style pretzels and dipping sauces. I would like to see more.
The business is spacious, being housed in an old auto-truck-van repair company building called Gear-Up Auto Inc. Parts of the bar are built around the hydraulic jacks. They also built other parts of the décor around pieces of old equipment. Plus there is a large patio to enjoy the wonderful Colorado weather.
It is popular. And busy. And really needs a bigger space. The crowd is hip and snobbish. It is really busy and often hard to find a place to sit.
The seasonally changing selection of beer is what fancies me. I support local businesses. You should also. You'll be...
Read moreAwful experience. Went there to ask for a table of 3 (during covid) and we were told itd be an hour wait for inside seating. We figured we could sit outside and asked if we can sit outside instead and he told itd be the same wait time. Mind you, the host was not particularly friendly during this entire interaction.
So, we headed outside to find another joint because all we wanted was a drink (we are tourist looking for a drink) so next door we spotted a hispanic place (Colorado Cervecería) so we headed there, but as soon as we walked in the same host came over to where we were (yes, from next door) and literally told us we had to leave because sitting and wait times were the same for both places since they were sister companies ??
First, I felt like I was kicked out of a place in front of other patrons who were eating. And I felt completely embarrassed.
Second, we weren’t aware they were sister companies and don’t feel like we needed to be embarrassed that way.
Horrible customer service. I can’t speak to their beer because we never tried them...
