I'm going to give this place 5 stars for effort. I am going to review it critically as a new business in hopes they step up their game, because they have great potential. A+ for atmosphere and décor. It is laid back, with a touch of class and an overall inviting environment. Our waiter was inexperienced but did everything he could to make things right when obvious growing pains were afoot. Food was sent out timely and when mistakes were made there were quickly rectified. The minor mistakes did not bother me. Every one of us was new at what we do at one point, and patients and kindness are a virtue I strive to have. So A+ for service. The biggest opportunity for improvement for this establishment is in the cuisine. C- at best for food when considering pricing. Now I know, everything is more expensive right now and I do not mind paying the extra money especially when it is not a chain restaurant. My criticism comes with a disclaimer to the owners and chef to please take no offence, I only say this as a customer who would love to visit again with a better experience. The smoked snapper appetizer had very little smoke flavor to it. The ice-cream style scoop of fish salad we received resembled something from a school lunch and tasted like canned fish. In my head for $20, I should have received some fresh snapper, still flakey, smoked, seasoned well and tossed in a sauce of your creation. The grouper sandwich was most certainly not fresh fish and at 28 bucks a pop should not have tasted like it was caught a week ago or possibly frozen and thawed. At $32 for a combo smoked plate, the meat should have a good smoke ring, have an actual smoky flavor, and be seasoned appropriately. Instead It was bland, no smoke ring, barely any smoke flavor and seemed like it was cooked in the oven and not smoked at all. I love the fact that you are revitalizing an area of Florida that has been recently forsaken. Making use of the infrastructure that is there and morphing it into a totally new space. For that, I have nothing but the utmost respect. I wish I could comment on the beer but I did not have the opportunity to try them. Witnessing the scores of people at the bar your guys are on point. I believe that you should advertise what you serve appropriately and not what you want it to be. Meeting people's expectations of what you say is on the menu to the meal itself is paramount to being a great place to eat versus a place with good beer with food that is "meh, and over priced", as my overly honest 11 year old put it. I truly wish you guys the best of luck and plan to visit you again when I am in the...
Read moreCame to this hidden gem Beach Camp Brewery on Friday, May 31, 2024. Call your mom, dad, sister, brother or long distance cousin this place needs to be put on the map asap. We came in and seated at a hightop table by your self but was quickly greeted by Jesse our hostess for the night. Both me and my wife had a few tasters before settling with the recommended house choice of their house brew blonde and amber ale. They do have an assortment of outside business drafts and I really had a thing for the strawberry kiwi brew as it was different and just wow but their house drafts were top notch. I ordered the full rack of ribs with 2 sides and corn bread, let’s stop this review because this one meal needs its own spot light. The Smokiness, the tenderness of that meat falling off the bone with their homemade bbq is the perfect meal to end a day in the Destin sun before you take a trip to tastebud heaven. The two choices of sides, I ordered the gouda Mac and cheese and these are probably some of the most flavorful Mac and cheese I have had. I also choose the bakes bbq beans which was a perfect match and also comes with a moist cornbread slice. My wife ordered the pulled pork platter because you can never go wrong with pulled pork and ordered the same sides and while we choose not to eat seafood this visit it was just an amazing tastebud trip with what we ordered from the BBQ side. The atmosphere is pleasant with some peaceful tunes, the waitresses are all very nice and show that panhandle southern hospitality. Be sure to look at their events on what day you choose to go but this place is a hidden gem that deserves to have its name blasted out there as this is a bucket list must try. Will be back soon thank yall
Returned on September 27,2024 and it was just as great as the first time. Our waiter was Andre which he was a gem and very personable and could carry a conversation and was very knowledgeable about the business franchise. I wanted to order something else on the menu but I loved the ribs so much the first time I had to have them again and they did not disappoint best ribs I have ever eaten hands down. Come visit this establishment and give your taste buds a vacation and have the Ol’Glory in house beer with some of the most tastiest food in...
Read moreOutside of feeling like an inconvenience prior to being seated, this place was absolutely incredible with a great setup, phenomenal southern oriented menu and classic craft cocktails with their own sprinkle of originality.
When we walked in someone rolling silverware told us to wait by the hostess stand and someone will be with us. We were the only ones waiting and 4-5 minutes go by before the bartender noticed us and says someone will be with us shortly. Another few minutes goes by and she noticed we were still there and called out to one of the servers to seat us. A few more minutes goes by before the bartender herself came from out the bar and seated us herself. The whole ordeal was like 11 or 12 minutes to get sat in a close to empty downstairs dining room around noon.
Once we got sat we were greeted by 2 different servers but Jenn ended up taking care of us and was very patient with us as we asked many questions. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us great recommendations!
The drinks were superb, the food top-notch! We got the tuna dip appetizer and both of us got lunch plates. It was much more than we bargained for in terms of portion sizes and all the sides were delightful. I picked up a bone from my ribs and it slid right off the meat! Finger-lickin’ good! Will definitely have to come back for their happy...
