I wish I had all positive things to say about eating here, but the best thing about this place is the service. The wait staff and the manager during breakfast (Lucas) were lovely, and very helpful. My hubby and I ate breakfast here twice. The first morning, I had the smoothie bowl, which is described as a strawberry smoothie mixed with yogurt, so I was expecting a consistency closer to a thick smoothie, but not aas thick as a Greek yogurt bowl. It was SOUP. Literally so watery, I wouldn't even drink it as a smoothie. I also ordered the French toast, which was delicious, and I highly recommend it. The manager noticed I wasn't eating the smoothie bowl and came to ask if it was okay. I told him it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but I intended to pay for it, as I had eaten some of it. He immediately said he'd take it off our bill, and if I wanted anything else to please let them know. He was understanding and kind about it, which I really appreciated. The young server came and apologized too, but I told her it wasn't her fault at all. Both mornings my hubby had eggs, bacon and either toast or a fruit bowl. He said the eggs and bacon were good, but was disappointed that the fruit bowl was only pineapple and cantaloupe. The second morning I ordered the Continental, which comes with yogurt, a muffin, and a fruit bowl. I had the banana nut muffin, which was warm and delicious. The yogurt, however, ws a tiny kids strawberry banana Yoplait that had so much sugar, being pre-diabetic, I couldn't eat on top of the muffin. Again, the fruit bowl was just pineapple and cantaloupe. This is a very nice restaurant, with nice restaurant prices (to be fair, the continental breakfast is only $11), but I feel like the healthy breakfast options were made as cheaply as possible. As a nice restaurant, they could spring for real plain Greek yogurt, with fresh berries for a nice parfait. And for the continental, fresh mixed berries, and a adult sized greek yogurt. The atmosphere is nice enough, though still rather hotel-plain. If the decor was a little more Durango-esque, that would be perfect.

Circle K roller grill quality food at steak house prices. For $23 you can get a fresh out the freezer, grey slime "meat" patty with cheese on two pieces of stale bread. Or for a mere $19 you can snag two pinky finger sized fish pieces marinated in an entire cup of oil and overcooked to a blackened crisp. And it all comes with a side of Signature Select freezer burnt french fries! Our waitress was so concerned about working on the outside patio instead of the air conditioned bar that she never heard a word we said. Which explains why we asked for the check twice before it arrived. It also took a literal three requests for a to-go container (our hogs gotta eat too :) to put our leftovers in, before she just took our plates away and tossed our food in the dish bin. One of those types of folks that pretends to listen, nodding along to our words while focusing on how to turn the conversation to being about them. There is no excuse for this. 2:30 PM on a Saturday. Two other tables were seated, 18 were empty. They weren't busy, with customers at least. It seems the one and done tourism mindset is prevalent here. Awe out-of-towners with the beautiful views and the peaceful river. Take advantage of their relaxed mindset. Rudely serve the customer incredibly overpriced cafeteria food and then lean into their appreciation for our town as a whole to cover up the lack of quality and service. Shameful all around. As local Durangotangs, our family will never stop here again and will actively protest anyone that suggests a try.

I WISH I could leave a negative review. This place was absolutely the most awful place I’ve ever been to. Firstly, the atmosphere is extremely outdated. It felt like I was breathing in old mold and sat down next to some not so friendly older people staring us down. Don’t come here if you’re looking for a fun, lively environment. My boyfriend and I came in around 6 PM. It was a little crowded, totally don’t judge them for being busy. I know how food service can be. BUT, the waitress and waiter were probably one of the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met. Never sat us down, waited 20 minutes for someone to come up to us and just put some water on the table without asking us if we wanted anything else, the waitress ended up coming up to us and asked if we were ready to order but we hadn’t even received our menus yet. I kindly told her we haven’t gotten our menus yet, and I kid you not she waved me off. I was honestly so frustrated I ended up leaving. Please, do not come to this restaurant. I’m not kidding when I say we ended up going to Dennys and getting the best service ever, and it’s right...
