At first glance I HAD to go in, once inside it was adorable! A bit small for how popular it was but I loved the atmosphere. The service was great! The staff were very nice and attentive. Sadly, it wasn’t very good for either of us. BUT it was not entirely a fault of theirs. We came to find out that the science behind “dull/bland flavor” when above 7,000 ft sea level is that you physically can’t taste stuff. Oxygen helps carry flavor on taste buds so when you’re high in elevation your oxygen particles are farther apart, hence why you can’t breathe. The same effect goes into taste, higher elevation equals less flavor. At least according to our scientist guide at yellow wood guiding! Very cool and smart guy, highly recommend his tour. This is a good place to stop before going. The fault was in the rocky road cluster, maybe it was me but I’m 98% sure that a RR cluster has caramel in it and wayyyy more walnuts than that. Very disappointing, especially cus I got three! Way too much marshmallow, no caramel and very little walnuts. The chocolate dipped marshmallow stick was the best, super soft fluff and super cute. The dipped Twinkie was a bit dry for my partner but I thought it was the best for me personally, again super cute though! Probably would come again if I’m in the area but wouldn’t get the same stuff, there’s so much to try! And not nearly as expensive as most chocolate shops in tourist towns. All in all a great experience!

So, We used RMCF website to plan a trip to Estes Park. Wow, were we misled! Website showed a MUCH larger store, manufacturing going on at this location and MUCH LARGER candy selection. We drove over 100 miles to visit and left VERY DISAPPOINTED. There were literally 10 Dipped apples, in 6 types to choose from, more than half were "unavailable". I have been shopping with RMCF for decades!! But THIS store is LAUGHABLE to say the least!! We purchased 8 items, 3 of which were Milk Chocolate Truffles. Mind you, SHOPPED WITH RMCF FOR DECADES!! If i had KNOWN they'd taste like this, I would NOT have bought them! They taste so heavy of Chocolate Liqour, I swear there is RUM LIQOUR in them!! They're DISGUSTING! The FUDGE is gross. All it is is sugar and marshmallow, barely has a chocolate flavor. My order was, 1 Black Forrest Apple, 1/2 lb Choco Fudge, 2 Orange Sticks, and 4 Truffles, $49. NEVER AGAIN. NOT ONE PENNY.

We really love the Rocky Mountain Chocolates company, we get them everywhere we go in Colorado. Unfortunately today was not a great experience. The older lady behind the counter was very short in her tone and we got this sinking feeling that she was vigilant over us. We asked for samples, she said “No”… Okay fine even though at other locations they definitely give samples. I started to speak to my husband in Spanish to see what else we could get for family and friends, and that’s when I sensed that she was starting to have an issue with us being there. My husband then asked if she was able to cut the big piece of Oreo fudge in half as we didn’t need that much and to mix and match, and again she responded with a cold, “No because they already are cut to that size”. Okay we understand, but there are other fudge places that can cut smaller. So we got a White Almond Bark and Milk Chocolate Toffee, which were good but found another fudge place that rendered better service and could cut the fudges. As we were leaving, there was another family (I hate to even mention this but they were Caucasian) and she gave them nothing but smiles and good service. Needless to say that we won’t come back to this location anymore and will take our business elsewhere. Pity that she gave us a sour taste in our mouths when this is supposed to be a...
