We had a TERRIBLE experience last night. We are frequent business and personal visitors to Ruth's Chris Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as other notable restaurants including The Capital Grille, Perry’s Steakhouse and Del Frisco’s . This was an UNACCEPTABLE evening. I requested to speak with the manager twice, including writing the request on my CHK #7269 and including my cell phone. No manager came to our table and as of Saturday, I have not been contacted. I wish to have the complete meal refunded. We had a Friday 7 pm reservation and were seated. We waited at our table for 10 minutes before anyone came by or acknowledged us. Finally, water service was provided. 5 minutes later, bread service (with no plates). We were told that our server was "Joe". Joe rushed by at the 15 minute point, apologizing for the delay, and saying he would be back shortly. Joe was friendly and accommodating but he was obviously overloaded. Bread plates were never provided through this entire time. Joe came by 5 minutes later and took our drink orders: French 75 for my wife and extra dirty Gray Goose martini for me. The drinks were MUCH delayed. We asked Joe for bread plates and these were finally brought to the table 30 mins in! Drinks finally arrived. My wife's cocktail was WARM. My drink was perfectly iced but with very little olive juice. We waited another 10 minutes before any server was visible and finally flagged Joe to address my wife's French 75. He said he would advise the bar. Nothing was done; Joe was simply overwhelmed and we added ice cubes to the cocktail We ordered steak house salads and advised Joe that we would place our main course afterwards. 15 minutes elapsed with no salads. We opted to have 3 shared appetizers as our meal: 1) veal osso buco ravioli, 2) Spicy Shrimp and 3) sizzling crab cakes. Joe confirmed that these would be served as our entrée and NOT as appetizers. NOTE: our salads had NOT YET BEEN SERVED. 5 minutes later, a polite food runner arrived at our table with sizzling crab cakes. Patiently explained that we were waiting for our salads (1 hour in) and 3 appetizers were to be served as our entrée He returned to the kitchen with the crab cakes. 5 minutes elapsed. NO SALAD. And, to our shock, a different (polite) food runner shows up with the SAME crab cake. FINALLY, salads arrived. We ordered lemon basil dressing but we did not receive. We were VERY hungry and ate them. After a long wait, and eating remaining bread, 3 appetizers were served. Ironically, the “sizzling” crab cake was cold. Was this the original version brought to the table 30 mins earlier? Spicy shrimp was EXCELLENT. Veal osso buco ravioli was undercooked; rubbery pasta with minimal filling with poor flavor. We had ordered more drinks. Waited 30 mins. Joe apologized for the delay. He was actually a bartender who had been asked to work as a server this evening. Bar was heavily backed up. At this point, (1.75 hours??), we should have cancelled the drinks as we were out of the mood. Our drinks finally arrived. My wife’s French 75 was AGAIN warm. Politely flagged Joe and explained that we had the same issue. He left to advise the bar. Then, since he was a bartender, he personally fixed and returned a properly chilled French 75 cocktail. We were still hungry, wanted a coffee liqueur and crème brulee dessert. When we heard Joe inform the neighboring table that the kitchen had just run out of crème brulee, we changed our mind. I did not want to embarrass my wife, so I went to the front and asked to see the manager. Although I was told that they would be along shortly, no manager (or server or supervisor of any kid) addressed my concerns. I felt that this was not our server’s cause; this appears to be poor FOH and BOH management. The bill was presented and I wrote my name, cell number and requested that the manager contact me regarding my dissatisfaction. I tipped Joe, in cash, as our server. The server should not be penalized for...
Read moreOur recent dining experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House on Mother’s Day was unfortunately marred by several significant issues. Despite making reservations weeks in advance for a family celebration with our six children, aged 17 to 3, we encountered a series of disappointments throughout the evening.
Upon arrival, we were immediately aware of disapproving looks and attitudes from the staff due to the size of our party. Our waitress initially seemed put off when taking our drink orders, as if she expected us not to order drinks for our children; assumptions of our lack of funds due to the amount of children no doubt. This attitude persisted when she neglected to provide a kids' cup for our three-year-old, causing unnecessary distress.
Throughout the meal, the waitress exhibited a markedly different demeanor when attending to older couples nearby, providing detailed explanations of the restaurant and menu that were conspicuously absent from our service. This disparity in treatment was disappointing and unprofessional.
Our main courses arrived with multiple errors: a missing side dish, an undercooked fillet (requested medium well but served extremely rare), and a lengthy delay in receiving an entrée for one of our children. The waitress apologized for the oversights but failed to rectify the situation promptly, leaving us waiting and dissatisfied.
Additionally, we observed a decline in basic service standards, such as table clearing and drink refills, which were neglected throughout the meal.
When we finally finished our main course, the waitress asked us if we would like the check, failing to bring out the ice cream that is included with the entrees from the children's menu. The waitress was impatiently trying to rush us out the door, though I stated that we would like to order dessert. She begrudgingly took our dessert orders.
The final disappointment came with our desserts, particularly the crème brûlée, which were poorly executed—three out of four were entirely liquid inside, indicating a lack of culinary competence in basic custard skills
To compound matters, the restaurant failed to adjust the bill despite the significant delay in serving one of our meals.
In summary, our experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House was marred by subpar service, errors in meal preparation, and an overall lack of attention to detail. This disappointing visit has left us with no desire to return to this location...
Read moreI never thought I would be typing this after dining her for almost 29 years now but this by far was the worse experience I have had eating at Ruth Chris. I am new to Texas I went to the Fort Worth location. It was a Saturday evening before Father’s Day. It started out with the drinks wife and I ordered a pomegranate martini a piece and no exaggeration both our drinks were bout a good few sips short. We both ordered salads and at Ruth Chris I’m use to the chop salad already having the dressing in it and it coming out round. Not the case tonight the salad was just on a plate with the dressing in a cup . I told my waiter no olives, no eggs, and no blue cheese crumbs well my salad was missing mushrooms and only had 3 croutons in it. Now for our food my steak was pretty good but the shrimp on top were not cooked all the way on the side not showing and hardly no seasoning I’ve had better from Logan’s steak house. When the 3 sides came out they were on small plates like normal with no utensils to serve them with. After waiting almost 5 minutes we we’re finally asked how everything was and someone brought us utensils. We ordered Brussel sprouts and sent those back they were almost completely dry and very hard like real crunchy. My wife’s stuffed chicken was over cooked so bad to the point the Parmesan cheese in the inside was way thicker and not creamy like usual. The sweet potato casserole was also crunchy on top and overcooked. Last thing that really got me it was Father’s Day weekend and they had a special that came with a starter, entree, a side , and a dessert. Keep in mind before ordering I ask the waiter about substituting the salad and one of the sides he said I could for a up charge. For this particular meal (father’s day) it comes with a side but stated personal size so I asked the waiter was it shareable he said no. I wanted a side of lobster Mac with my meal but personal size only because my wife is allergic to shellfish. The food comes out and it’s a regular size of the lobster Mac. After frustrated with the whole outcome of my meal and sending the Brussel sprouts back I asked for the check I was charged 27$ for a side of lobster Mac but my side that was supposed to came with the Father’s Day meal was excluded I guess because I wanted lobster Mac instead of a up charge like I was told.I definitely don’t recommend this location hopefully I have a better experience at the...
