We are Colorado Western Slope residents. This is our second visit to Glenwood Springs and the hot springs. We needed to get lunch somewhere and saw this restaurant on the main street. We checked reviews and they were fairly good so decided to give this place a try. We went in, found a table for six and waited. There was only one other party in the restaurant and it was 1:45pm on Saturday. I finally asked if they had menus and was told no they had everything on their chalkboard which was difficult to read. Then we were told they were closing their lunch but we could order their quiches they had premade in the case. We ordered three quiches, two coffees, and a couple of sodas. It was crazy expensive for just that and we had to order at the counter, find our own silverware, salt and pepper, napkins and water. Can we say no service at all? We looked around and noticed there were bins with signs that said Bus your own table. My son was not done with his coffee and left to use the restroom. My two daughters and myself had picked up our dishes and placed them in the bins. Because we drove separately my daughter and I got up to leave. As we were walking out of the restaurant the clerk YELLED at us to bus our table. We turned around and said we already did that. Then she spouted back, that empty coffee cup and saucer (which was not empty). We told her it was my son's and we didn't know if he was finished and we walked out. My other daughter and son and grandkids were still in the restaurant when the clerk proceeded to tell the other clerk loudly that we had spent $40 and didn't even bother to tip! (the $40 was only my order) I am not in the habit of tipping when I have to serve myself and bus my own table. I've worked hard for my money and am happy to tip where there is service and the staff is polite. This place is way over priced and the "staff" are beyond rude. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreWe went here due to some reviews but off the bat I could tell it was going to be a bad experience and it certainly was. We did not feel welcome and ALL the girls had terrible entitlement type of attitudes. The girl ringing us up acted as if we were interrupting her from not doing her job of standing around. She was rude when taking our order and acted like everything we asked for was unheard of. Asking for an extra plain bagel seemed out of their way, like that was something they'd never done before. I asked for 2 bacon bagels and she rung them up with no bacon AND she asked if we wanted a plain or everything bagel. We asked for one everything and was upcharged 50 cents. No big deal. It wasn't until we received our to go order that I saw that both bagels had plain bagels. I called the store and the girl who answered acted as if I got the wrong number and had no clue how to talk to a customer. A simple 'sorry about that' would have sufficed but again there was that attitude over the phone. I came into store to ask about the order and no one said hello. I had to ask when the lady came up to me, no smile, and didn't ask me what I needed. I had to tell her, she came out and said they were out of the everything bagel, so why didn't they say anything when they gave me my order. Again NO apology, just attitude. At this point, the 50 cents made a huge difference. She looked at the cash register and assumed I'd follow her and when I looked to find her, she held up her phone to show me on the menu the 50 cent upcharge for an everything bagel. That WASN'T THE point! The point was, the order was wrong so take Ownership of it, say sorry or oops or something! NONE of that was done. Again attitude from all 3 girls. Terrible Terrible customer service. Oh and the food was cold....
Read moreIf I could give lower than a star I would give a 1/2 star. It starts off with not enough tables. There is only one menu and taped to the counter with DO NOT TOUCH. How friendly is that?! I ordered the Bacon protein breakfast with avocado, egg, bacon and fruit for 9.75. My husband ordered bacon burrito and was told they were out of bacon. So he got the same dish as I did….funny both dishes had bacon. We were charged 24.00 for two of the 9.75 meals……someone needs a math class. We said something about it and he told us it was the fruit. However the menu said it all under one price. He then said you can’t believe menus.
A table became available but it had no salt or pepper or anything for that matter, other not cleaned. None of the tables were cleaned after anyone left during the time we were there. When they brought our food the man set it down then started to walk away. My husband asked about silverware, the man turned around slapped it down hard on the table totally annoyed at the request and walked off. The food was okay, the bacon was so thin you could practically see through it. There is really no service here. You take your dishes and trash….oh maybe we were supposed to wipe down the table. For being one of the top 10 places in Glenwood to have breakfast…….I’m scared to see the others. I’d rather go to Village Inn. Save your money and frustration and eat else where. This...
