I'm assuming that it is harder to get ingredients in Glenwood Springs but the price point and quality don't quite match up. (I'm using NYC price standards as a point of reference.) We had the charcuterie plate and that was pretty good and given the amazing burrata, the $30 price point is understandable. That's about where the good ends and the mediocre to bad begins. I'm being generous with my 3 star review (again taking into account price point because Sbarro's pasta isn't very good but at least it is cheap). I had the Bolognese... The pasta wasn't bad and might have been homemade but the sauce was quite watery (kinda similar to college when you added water to your jar of ragu). I can't remember exactly how much it cost but it was something in the mid to high $20s. On the high end but would've been fine if the sauce had the proper texture... But... It did not. My friend had the linguine il frutti di mare... Decent ingredients, over done pasta... My fiance had the caprese... Not bad but nothing to write home about. So while the mains were mediocre at best, the sides were just down right bad. I didn't take pictures of the rest of the food since I wasn't impressed but I did take a picture of the brussel sprout side. It may be the worst brussel sprouts I've ever had at a restaurant. Overly salted, soggy, overcooked.. The seasonal vegetables were just basically boiled zucchinis, carrots, etc. Not fully strained as water was still on the plate. To top it off, mains came almost an hr after ordering with tables that came after us being served before us. The waiter's explanation was that it was dropped on the floor and they needed to remake it. Ok, sure.. but pasta doesn't take that long to make. They comped us a glass of wine for the long wait.. didn't really need or want it.. but it was something. nothing off the bill was a surprise so I guess their feeling is that our extra wait time was worth the roughly $3 value of what that wine cost the restaurant. We still left a good tip bc we didn't want to penalize the wait staff but it was just a bad experience overall. Bill with tip for 3 ppl with only one person having 1 glass of wine was $168. Should've gone to the super market for some ragu.

TLDR; you don't get enough value for the money that you're charged. As a former owner, I can understand being in a position where you need to control costs and find a balance between what people are willing to pay and the quality of offerings that you have. That said, I found that the quality of the food didn't justify the price. I would have been happy if our entrees were $10 cheaper or the portion sizes were bigger for the listed price ($25 for the chicken parmesan and $27 for the Rigatoni). The spaghetti for the chicken tasted preprepared, like you would buy from the grocery store. I say that, because it was underdone enough to feel like it was still hard on the inside. The sauce, sadly, tasted like tomato soup. I can appreciate the flavor of tomato, and trying not to overpower it with seasoning, but it could have used some pop. The star of the dish, the chicken, was delicious. *Full disclosure, I don't know if I've had fresh pasta before, but I can't imagine that it would be hard like store-bought pasta is.* The sausage for the Rigatoni tasted freezer burnt. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the quality that I would expect for the price that we were charged. I also took offense to the 3% obligatory charge for using a credit card to pay. It wasnt a lot—just a dollar or so—but, I don't know why you wouldn't just build that expense into the price instead of just telling the guest that you're charging extra (which, again, I understand as a former owner). Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't good, either.

I stopped by this place after a long day and super excited to have some good Italian food. We waited about 10 min to be seated. The server was great at 1st buy we did not see him for about 20 min and ran out of water. Finally he came back and we asked for more water. We ordered meat sauce pasta which was ok. Chicken parmesan which was ok as well. I ordered the ribeye with muchroom sauce. I was not a big fan of the mushroom sauce it was not all that good. The ribeye was ok. The Torretta di melanzane which was off the hook 5 stars! The bruschetta was okay. I would probably come back again mainly for that melanzane! I did not like that there were several cameras near us basically able to listen to us and watch us. I am against audio for people wanting to talk buy video is ok.

We just visited Glenwood this weekend for a mini-getaway and Brava made our whole trip! The food was extraordinary, the owners (a lovely man and woman) were unparalleled in their ability to run the entire establishment like a well oiled machine, the staff were kind and inviting, the atmosphere was PERFECTION....Literally everything was perfect from top to bottom!!

That all being said, there was an extra layer of extraordinary when we had the opportunity to dine here--there was a very angry man whom decided it was his place to speak hatefully to the owner and was politely asked to leave (looking through the reviews I can see they've already left a nasty review...but we were at the table just adjacent to them and saw the entire thing). He absolutely lost it, began cussing, actually charged the bar, yelled, etc. As the restaurant was completely full, it had gone silent after his rant. This is where the most magnificent thing happened: The male owner turned down the music, called for everyone's attention and said this, "Excuse me. I have an announcement to make. If you come into this restaurant, you treat us nicely. Otherwise, you can leave." Very gently said, but very pointed. The entire place erupted in an ovation and my heart just exploded. Not only does this restaurant serve quality meals and uphold all standards of the best dining experience, but it has great ownership with strong standards for their business. Not only did he stand his ground with kindness, thoughtfulness, and respect, but he zipped around the entire restaurant filling everyone's cups with a round on the house (from memory nonetheless!). Just, wow. Very impressed from beginning to end.

Glenwood is blessed to have such an incredible restaurant and people. We will be back every time we come through, I can promise that!

If you're looking for the real deal, you need not look any further. This is the kind of business to support!!

(For food specifics: We ordered the scallops, chicken parmesan, a pasta dish, and the Tiramisu. Finishing off with a gifted Limoncello--perfetto!-- Absolutely everything was divine and we would...

We went to this restaurant with my wife’s boss and husband as we were there for business. My wife greeted the waiter and told him it was our first time there and it was recommended. He was cordial at first. When my wife’s boss told him that we would need some separate checks (part for business and part for spouses) the waiter immediately changed. He said “we’ll deal with that later) and pushed for drinks and appetizer orders. When we were not sure yet, he just walked off and ignored our table for a long time. We finally ordered drinks and an appetizer but his demeanor was so rude. He seemed upset that we didn’t order alcoholic beverages. When he came for food orders, again, he seemed to get mad because we wanted to share (between my wife and I) a larger plate and sides. He pushed for me to order my own plate almost implying I couldn’t handle my own plate and my wife had to order for me. His comments were very rude. Had we not been with others, we would have walked out. Food was brought by another server and he also replenished drinks. We didn’t see our waiter until the check came and he just dropped off one bill for our entire table. When my wife’s boss reminded him about the separate checks, he said “just figure out what each one owes and get me cards!” What kind of service is that? He was told up front we needed to separate and he still just did not care. My wife’s boss was forced to figure out how to process a check with multiple plates that would not be covered by their employer. When he returned the check and credit cards, he just walked by and dropped them on the table and walked off. He clearly had all his attention on other patrons and ignore us throughout. We didn’t tip but unfortunately my wife’s boss did. Our tip to this management is get rid of him. We won’t go back. I shared our experience with the local shopkeeper who had recommended this place. She said that she knew who we had as our waiter and she avoided him too. She apologized for our experience and that waiter should have been the one apologizing. He should not be working...
