Management seems more interested in gossiping in the kitchen behind the wall, that greeting customers, hosting people to their tables or ensuring to go orders are being made timely. Typically this can be observed between 4-9PM, with later times ensuring lazy service.
The lack of work ethic extends to the staff. In one case when ordering a meal, the waitress informed me that they didn’t have mash potatoes because a “large reservation prior”. Considering it’s instant mash potatoes out of box, and it was 3:30PM in the afternoon, anyone who has worked in a restaurant could quickly figure out they just didn’t want to make the potatoes. Perhaps they had a shortage of food safe certified staff.
Additionally, they don’t really take no for an answer. I had to get very curt at declining to order a meal because the waitress wouldn’t take the time to listen to what I was asking. Turns out I dodged a bullet, because my wife went on to order biscuits and gravy. 3 hours later, she was vomiting and showing clear signs of food poisoning. She could see additionally that the sausage she consumed was not entirely cooked in her vomit, which can’t be noticed when consuming because the meal is smothered in gravy.
So when I make the accusation that food safety and handling is not being followed in the kitchen it is because every single time myself or someone I am delivering a meal to consumes a meal containing meat, they end up sick.
My suggestion if you are going to eat here is expect service on par with a government budget, food to be subpar, staff to be lazy and borderline incompetent and be ready to grab that pepto bismal afterwards.
There are better, cleaner, safer places to go. I recommend coloradough...
Read moreI went for a weekend trip to Glenwood to visit the hot springs for a good time and to relax and stopped at this village in around 7pm to order some breakfast for dinner but the hash browns were raw on this inside like mashed potatoes and burnt black on the top we had 2 orders of these and both were made like that as well as my sausage patty was singed to a little crispy patty I wanted to mention more other than the hash browns but they were re making the hasbrowns so we feared someone spitting in it or something rude like that we were offered 4 dollars off of our 50+ tab but said no more and paid and was very respectful to these workers as trying to enjoy my trip but then I told the cashier I entered my pin already on my card and it was approved but he said no it did not work even though the machine said it did so he has me insert my card again and once I drive 4 hours back home I check why my account is short and I was charged over 100$ from this village inn because I did still tip and I have called on the phone left my information about receiving a refund because I believe it’s only right now that I receive a full refund of both transactions for the headache and suffering of trying to get back a hold of this location that I am no where near of and they know that I called over a week ago and have not heard back or got my money back for this terrible experience.! 😮💨😤 the server did come and take a picture of our food that night so they are well aware of the mistake and show no concern or...
Read moreI am unbelievably surprised at how terrible the service is here and a complete disappointment. In Denver the Village Inns are gone, and I was excited for the nostalgic free pie Wednesday for after brunch. We walked in and the kid walked us over after saying not much at all but how many in our party, he walked away i I assumed to follow him sat us down at a freshly clean table, it was still very wet, but grateful to know it’s clean. We waited 20 min for the waitress to come over to look over her shoulder to tell us she wi be right with us after taking all the other tables orders even people who sat after us. Finally she got to us and we had already sat so long we knew what we wanted and we were able to put in our drink order and as we were about to tell her our food order also, which she could have put in at the same time, she interrupted me and said wait, I will put this in first and come back. There were at least 7 tables at this point that hadn’t even been seen also. What the heck is going on here. If it takes this long just to be seen to get only your drink, I can’t imagine when the drinks even come out or if the food will even be hot when it comes to the table. We left before even ordering we didn’t want to waste our money here, and we went somewhere else and had an amazing meal in an appropriate amount of time and friendliness, it’s a shame that everyone working here seems to have no discipline or lack of seniority...
