I didn't want to leave a review but I went to the website and they don't have a contact email so I guess this is the way they get feedback. I haven't been to Chomps in years. At one point they were my favorite sandwich shop ever. After the new owner took over I went twice and then quit going because it was nowhere near as good as when Fish owned it. Lots of locals quit going for awhile, to be honest. It was just immediately much worse. For some reason, today I decided it would be a good idea to try it again. I got a Veggie Chomp to go. There was a time a Chomps veggie was the best veggie you've ever had. But now...well you can see the picture. I took two bites and pitched it. I didn't give them one star because they have more than four from a decent number of reviewers so maybe it's just the veggie sandwich that went downhill. I couldn't bring myself to give three because that sandwich was almost unfathomably pathetic. If I saw that picture as the owner I would be very embarrassed. The person at the counter did warn me they were out of sundried tomatoes, but as you can see in the pic it looks like they ran out of everything but avocado spread. They still use Louis Swiss bread so that's good. I've heard people say the owner tells customers he bakes it in-house. It's Louis Swiss. You can get those exact same rolls at the City Market in El Jebel. And yes, they are excellent. Anyway, I hope this compels the owner to step up his game. That place is a shell of what it was...
Read moreStopped here on my way through Glenwood with my wife. I rarely give one star reviews, but I considered it here. I picked this place because I prefer local over chain establishments. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a soda. I was abruptly told that there was no ice in the ice machine and no cold drinks available. I drank warm water from the soda machine. The dining area is ... there's no other word ... filthy. (And my greasy spoon standards are fairly low.) The flies are forgivable, given the location, but the numerous dead flies on the window sill are not. The popcorn ceiling and walls have a layer of dirt. I stepped around a swamp cooler (the AC wasn't working?) and over a mop bucket to discover the bathroom was also out of order. We cleaned our own table with a napkin and our sandwich was prepared by a line of unenthusiastic, disaffected food servers. The sandwich i was served was reheated pulled pork on pretty decent bread. The bread was the single best thing about this 16 dollar sandwich. My impression is that this place is phoning it in on every aspect of running a deli and counting on the location and constant influx of new clients. (Which is why I felt compelled to review it.) I wish we had...
Read moreFood and service is good atmosphere really looks un inviting but still decided to give them a try food was good only complain really is the fact that it's so loud in there due to the fans blowing ECT that no one can hear anything me and my wife both specifically asked for toppings on our sandwiches and there both plain... Why offer toppings if y'all aren't gonna put them on? I'm an adult male with a loud voice as well so I made sure to speak up based of the environment so you can't blame it on that.. the computer that y'all ring us up on the person who took our order even put it in the system you could literally see it on the computer yet not toppings... Ok not huge deal I guess since they're free however the bacon was paid for and not received but the sandwiches themselves were pretty good tho I guessm If you go here make sure to literally YELL at them what you want on ur sandwich otherwise good luck getting any toppings. DONT CHARGE FOR TOPPINGS IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA PUT THEM ON THE SANDWICH...
