I have been going to this Happy Lemon a few times per month for a few years now and I advise anyone looking to go elsewhere. I go to many dessert/boba places in Denver and would highly recommend Lollicup, Sul Bing, or Mango Mango for your fix instead. To put into perspective, last year I spent ~$600 at this store and this year I will spend $0.
I also visit the other stores in this complex and have been told the new management is unpleasant and predatory by employees in this center. I had noticed a decrease in quality, especially compared to other boba places in the area. I can no longer recommend this store or any Happy Lemon in the Denver area; there are a lot of boba stores out there. There is an extremely high employee turnover at these stores for a reason; spend your money at a store that is more supportive of the people working for them.
I had an incident recently at this store which involved another customer harassing me. She followed me out the door screaming at and insulting me after I asked her child, who was hanging from the door handle and blocking the exit, to move so I could leave. I had to ask the child five times to move and they still didn't but I am not shoving my way past a little kid so I was stuck. The employee involved spent the entire time talking to this customer, ignoring the situation. It was an old woman I had never seen working there before and she ignored me the entire time I was at the counter when she was the only person there. The owner in their most recent reply said I am lying about this but the situation was very straightforward and visible on their cameras.
I have edited this review a few times because the responses from the owner have been astoundingly unprofessional, ranging from insults to insinuating I was mean to a disabled child. I had asked the child as gently as I could, but to their claim the child hanging from the door is not even the one they said had a disability in one of their responses (the woman had two children, the older one was hanging form the door while in another reply they said the younger one had a disability). Unfortunately, google reviews does not have edit history so in case they edit again here's the latest one:
"Weāve noticed that this is the fifth time youāve edited your review, and with each of my responses your account of events changes and becomes increasingly exaggerated and hostile.
As stated before, Iāve spoken with the staff present during the night in mention and their accounts do not align with your claims.
At this point, itās clear that continuing this back-and-forth isnāt productive and we believe it is best for both parties to move on"
You have continually edited your replies to this review as well, which is why I am responding despite it being not "productive." I edited my original review, which was previously 5/5, to reflect my opinion of your store and my most recent experience which you are claiming is false. I am sorry this is upsetting for you but I do not want someone else to be treated this way if there are other options with a much less hostile owner. Your young employees deserve better, your customers deserve better, the child involved in the incident deserves a mother who pays...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location used to be great. Once the second location opened up in Sheridan and the male worker/owner stopped working here less frequently, this location has gotten bad. My orders are always messed up. Once, my drink didn't have boba when I ordered it, another time they clearly didn't adjust the sugar level rating for my daughter, lastly, my smoothie drinks were liquidy by the time I picked up my online order within 8-10 minutes of placing it. The clover app states your drinks will be ready in 15 minutes and I showed up early. One of the drinks didn't remotely taste like the mango yakult smoothie I had ordered. It was a brown color and thawed out when it's supposed to be yellow and somewhat frozen/icy. Not to mention the time I showed up to pick up my order and it wasn't ready and no one was present in the front of the store. The females working were in the back talking while I was waiting 5-10 minutes for them to finish their conversation. I couldn't see them in the back but I could hear them talking. Don't bother with this location anymore. Go to Tea Street, Kung Fu Tea, Sharetea, or any other boba location than this one. They have lost a once loyal customer due to numerous wrong orders, not reconciling those orders, and being non responsive from feedback on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely addictive fruit teas. The passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly is my favorite but the strawberry version is amazing too. What makes them so good is the balance of flavors and textures. The passionfruit is very sweet, but is countered perfectly by the tannins of the green tea. The lychee bits in the bottom add a really fun texture element as well as another flavor that's slightly more tart and less sweet than the passionfruit. Fantastic. They also serve bubble waffles, which are like reverse waffles - rather than having indentations, they have round bubbles. Tasty on their own but when you add a side for dipping it takes it way up. I like the Oreo puff cream, which is like a richer hybrid of whipped cream and frosting almost, with crumbled Oreo bits. The bubble shape makes it easy to break off bits to dip, and easy to share. The service has never been anything but good. It gets quite busy during peak times but the staff manage the flow really efficiently. I recently went in for a tea and a waffle and they accidentally gave me the regular puff cream rather than Oreo. The worker actually ran out to the parking lot, found me in my car, and brought me...
