A coworker of mine invited me to lunch and she chose to dine here. I was already curious about this restaurant because I am a steak and seafood fan so this gave me a great opportunity to try them out. I ordered a fried shrimp plate with a baked potato. The food was average and I declined their salad bar because in my opinion there was nothing appealing to choose from. My coworker has a physical disability that requires her to have a caregiver with her at all times. Her caregiver and I both felt as though she was discriminated against due to her race. The waitress that we had that day failed to acknowledge her presence by neglecting to remove her finished or empty plates from our table. It was very obvious because she was more attentive to me than she was to the other 2 ladies I was seated with. I ordered my beverage before they had arrived. Instead of returning with my drink the waitress chose to have a conversation with what appeared to be a co-worker about 6 ft behind me for about 3 minutes. She did this with MY DRINK in her hand. I assume their conversation was more important than taking care of her table. When we were finished with our lunch and received our checks I paid with my husband's debit card. Unfortunately his card was damaged it would not scan properly and caused it to come up as declined on their computer system. Of course it wasn't her fault that this card was damaged. This waitress returned to my table and spoke loudly enough for the guests at the table next to us to over hear every word she spoke to me with a condescending attitude that my card was declined. And might I add I used this card at Walmart before the lunch date and at Sheetz to get gas after the lunch date. So there was no way possible that the card could possibly have been declined. It wasn't entirely a big deal because I had another card to cover my lunch so that wasn't the issue. The issue was this waitress had the audacity to speak so loudly to me about something that could have very well been embarrassing or disturbing to the average person. If I didn't have the money to cover my food I might have been uncomfortable but I'm blessed enough in life to not have to stress such. But she didn't know that and it wasn't her care or concern. She only wanted to broadcast and attempt to embarrass and belittle me. I am thankful that I am inclined to overlook such ignorant actions displayed by the younger generation of this day.
My other two table guests excused themselves to the restroom before we departed from the restaurant and as I quietly and politely waited on their return the gentleman at the next table commented on how he felt the waitress was extremely rude on how she handled the card situation. His his and his wife's comments on this confirmed the fact that I was right about her very poor customer service.
I was curious about this restaurant but I'm not anymore. If anyone has a taste for seafood and a good steak I highly recommend you go to the Red Lobster or maybe even Applebee's. I would go to McDonald's and eat a hamburger before I would return...
Read moreThe service was great, friendly and attentive to all our wants. I'm rating the salad bar only because that's what my wife and I had recently for lunch. It's been a long time since I've had a meal there. We had the soup, salad and dessert bar for $11.99 each. Soda $3.19 each and about $19.00 each after tax and tip. We found the salad bar to be mediocre. Diced ham and pepperoni but no chicken. tomatoes were hard and the cucumber was soggy and had a strange color. Only one cheese choice. We did find some Mozzarella cheese by the French Onion Soup. I would prefer whole olives on a salad rather than finely diced and mushey. I liked the chicken soup. My wife tried the Cheddar Bay and Stuffed Pepper soups but didn't care for either one. Their entrees seem pricy and old fashioned. It was nice having lunch at Hoss's. It was like taking a step back in time, but at todays prices. If my wife and I would have gotten the entrees with the salad for the additional $5.99, we probably would have been closer to about $60.00 for lunch. That would be the lower price entrees. If steak and surf-n-turf is what you are hungry for, and you are comfortable with those prices, then Hoss's would be a...
Read moreBefore I tell about my food experience I will say this that our waitress was amazing.
The rest of my dinner parties food was mediocre, mine was disgusting. Our waitress who was amazing brought me the shrimp scampi out after I tasted the sautéed shrimp that tasted like microwaved flavorless shrimp and it gagged me. I finished my meal and on the way home my husband had to pull over because I was sick. I cannot say one bad thing about my waitress but I will never eat here after my experience with the food. Having steak and seafood in the name you’d expect more than flat iron steaks and microwaved shrimp. Our meal for 5 people was over 120$ and the quality was worse than...
