We went here for breakfast. The place wasn't very busy. That should have been the only sign I needed. My wife ordered eggs over easy, toast, country fried steak with gravy, and coffee. I ordered eggs over easy, toast, grits, home fries and apple juice.
My eggs came out over hard, the grits were not very palatable, no butter on or for the toast and the home fries were basically tiny pieces of French fries.
My wife's toast was the same, the gravy for the country fried steak had zero flavor or seasoning in it and the server brought out her coffee without bringing sugar or cream. just black.
After waiting for 10 minutes for the server to come back, which she never did, I got up and asked another employee for cream and sugar. When the server finally came back to the table, she had our check in hand without ever asking if we wanted anything else. My wife then said, "we don't need the check, we need butter for the toast and dry potatoes, and I needed cream and sugar for my coffee, but my husband took care of that."
When I looked at the check, I noticed a 3% service fee on it, for what, I have no idea. I pay cash pretty much wherever I go, so that 3% came out of the dismal tip I left the waitress.
Not recommended at all. There are way better breakfast...
Read moreMy husband and I went for breakfast on our last day in Helen. We were seated in a timely manner, then sat there for over 20 minutes before I waved down an employee to ask if we had a waitresses. Turned out it was her, but no one had told her we were there (not even the waitress serving the table right beside us). She was polite enough. Our order came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the food was mediocre (Huddle House level). The weirdest part was the two guys who showed up and just hung out in the dining room (by then we were the only people in there). One was clearly a heavy drug user and they just stood around talking and laughing about their wild night (this was New Year's Day). Finally, a waitress (tweekers girlfriend or wife) came out and spoke to them, then another waitress came out and they all talked about her awful ex... yes, we were privy to their private conversation... it was just odd and inappropriate. Anyway, overall we weren't...
Read more$100. For Breakfast for 2 Adults and 2 Small Children. We had 1 omelet 1 french toast , kids 4 yr old had one scramble egg w 2 piece bacon and 1 plain biscuit, the other child 7 yr old ordered cheese sticks only they were ok Marina was good. Nothing was spectacular that we ordered and the adult food was borderline burnt it was over cooked. I REALLY WISH I COULD HAVE ORDERED AND TRIED THE KIDS PANCAKE SPAGHETTI! My French toast wasn't french toast it was Hard Cinnamon Rolls. I couldn't eat much of it. We were super hungry too we hadn't had breakfast and it was around 12 lunch on a Sunday - they serve breakfast until 2. I saw a lady order pizza and it looked amazing! The biscuits were huge as big as the plate and the eggs tasted ok just a little dry and hard everything was . Overcooked. Water in a glass was $3. Honestly wished we d went to Huddle House and paid half what we spent...
