Parking: We street parked about a block away. What to expect: We stopped in on a Saturday about 8:45am! It wasnt too busy. We were a little confused When we walked in, as the greeter told us to order at the counter. When we walked up to the bar counter, they redirected us to a different place to order. There was no hand held menus, just a board above the register to refer to. The lady at the register was super helpful in suggestion what to order. They seated us after we ordered, it felt a little rushed. Coffee and water is self served. All of the employees were going above and beyond to be friendly, however it's not a traditional restaurant serving style. Drinks: coffee was good, but not great. Bloody Mary, was simple and good but nothing stood out about this other than the bacon. It almost seemed like there was no alcohol in it? đ¤ˇđťââď¸ The food: was satisfying! The biscuits seemed a bit overcooked or dry but everything else was really good. The okra mixed it with the potatoes were a nice surprise! The bacon was delicious! My eggs on the eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. The "chicken fried steak" was unusual but delicious, it almost looks raw - but it's just the color of the bacon. My husband enjoyed this different take on a traditional meal! The BLT was delicious, my son said it was really good, it was also served with a couple hush puppies!

First time diners, new to Boise area. Very excited to try this place. First, the bacon is amazing. Can't complain at all. Fantastic flavor, thick cut and I really enjoyed the spicy one. Location is very convienient downtown. Lots of seating, even for large parties of 6+. There is no table service, so it's an order at the counter place; we didn't like that at all, especially since the counter is hidden in the back of the restaurant and you can't even see it, you'd have to follow signs to find it. It's a serve your own coffee place as well, kinda chincy like a hotel lobby or something. The eggs were cooked great and my husband loved the Brioche french toast. They also have a great espresso menu and make it at the bar. yes, they do serve alcohol and have a full bar for lunch/dinner diners. That's as an added bonus and it's likley we will return for lunch soon. One very disappointing (but awesome) thing is that they CAN sub most of their items for gluten free items (ex. Toast, french toast, etc) BUT they do NOT even put that option on their menu. I found out second hand. Why? I have no idea. They are losing a lot of business because of this, especially people that view the menu online before deciding to go there. This is a huge mistake for them. In addition, there are many pictures online of various items they don't actually have on their menu and we're simply a one time special. Example, don't get excited about pancakes - because they don't have them. Also, waffles, that's just an occasional thing, they don't have that option everyday. So that was a little misleading and kind of a bummer considering we brought our kids - that don't have any interest in specialty bacon for breakfast. We were banking in pancakes or something for them. I didn't like how were expected to tip either, when you have to order at a counter, get your own coffee and water, and...wait for it...get your own silver ware. Just seemed weird to tip them for basically bussing the table (an obvious "service" for any establishment - not the customer). Lastly, prices. Yikes! While I do respect bacon is expensive, and expected to pay more for that (and rightfully so - cause it's amazing) they also charge high prices for beverages, toasts, eggs, etc. Overall, we would return. Probably not as a full family of 5, but my husband and I at least. There's other options for great breakfast in the city for a much better experience at a cheaper price.

I feel like the food, and even the drinks, have all definitely gone downhill the last couple years. And this isnât just a Covid situation. I love the environment and the vibe. The service truly canât be beat. If I could rate Bacon on service alone it would get a 500/10, every time Iâve been they have been truly fantastic. However⌠If all I wanted was a basic mimosa and a fun bacon sampler Iâd be even more stoked. Sadly, patrons typically do desire more. Most of the savory entrees taste and feel the exact same. They use the same âscrambleâ for the base of a lot of their dishes. (If youâre expecting a breakfast burrito with any sort of texture, Iâd advise you look elsewhere.) But if youâre looking for something super sweet with a basic coffee then you definitely wonât be disappointed. Iâve never left here upset, per se. But my satisfaction has quite definitely gone down the last few years. Iâd like my burrito to have separate layers, not just the leftover scramble from my sonâs omelette thrown into a tortilla. And if someone at my table PAYS EXTRA for an âextra spicy Bloody Maryâ they should get something significantly different than their friend sitting next to them that ordered the âboringâ Bloody Mary. (We each tasted everyoneâs drinks and all 3 Bloody Maryâs tasted exactly the same, they were ordered at different spice levels, paid for at different prices, and all a little bit of a bummer.) Thankfully we were directed to some amazing Bloody Maryâs and Mimosas (plus other cocktails) at other locations, they just werenât to be had at BACON.

For our third Father Daughter monthly breakfast, we hit up Bacon in dntn Boise about 9:15 am on a Tuesday morning. Located at the corner of 9th & Idaho, the restaurant is nicely laid out and has a wonderful courtyard for warm weather outdoor dining. A little different set up that raised some questions. As you enter you are directed to the back kitchen area counter to order. Menu boards are available and the gal taking our order was great. However, it feels like a fast food setup versus a sit down breakfast restaurant and you end up paying and tipping for service before you sit down. Thankfully, our servers were polite and terrific. I order the Benny Hill eggs Benedict while my daughter took on the Boise omelette. Both plates came with an over abundance of seasoned potatoes. While tasty the amount of potatoes overwhelmed the egg dishes in our opinions. Maybe add some fruit instead of soo much potatoes? The eggs Benedict and bacon were good but the biscuit on the bottom was overcooked and hard. Overall service gets a 5 and the food gets a 3.5 with a great patio for warm weather breakfast!

One of the most memorable hidden gems we found in Boise, Idaho was a breakfast and lunch restaurant called BACON--and it truly holds up to the name! The owner developed his signature bacon and seasoning called Berryhill Bacon. Between the offerings they serve at the restaurant and their packaged uncooked bacon, they sell over 8 tons of bacon a year! We stopped at this location on a foodie tour of downtown Boise. Watching the crowds, you can see a variety of demographics including businessmen, families, and a bridal party. Our group was taken to a semi-private room where we were told the whole story of the restaurant, and were served bloody mary cocktails with a slice of their signature bacon, with a sidecar of candied bacon. However, the piece de resistance was the bacon mac and cheese, known as the MAC, which includes bacon, mushrooms, tomato and lots of cheese! As a chubby kid who has had a lot of fancy and not so fancy mac and cheese, I can safely say that this was one of the best I have ever tried! The next time I'm in Boise, I am making a beeline straight to BACON!

I did my research before going and was set to try the Benny Hill. I had a good feeling of this restaurant before hand so I knew they weren't going to let me down. First off, the staff is super nice, especially the young lady who was seating everyone and cleaning the lobby. Aside from beautiful she was so sweet and talkative. Since I am from out of town and don't know anyone around having someone to talk to was nice. Now, the food. The presentation was absolutely scrumptious. The eggs were so fluffly and light, the biscuits crumbled so easily. The potatoes could have been on the lighter side from herb seasoning and were a bit cold but still, they were delicious. Solid 9/10. If french vanilla or hazelnut coffee creamer was available was anywhere in sight, that would've been great. The coffee was pretty darn strong. I really liked it. I drank it like that with a few sugar packets. 10/10 I'll be back again soon. Thank you BACON for your awesome BACON and the amazing service!
