I do not know the owner's name of Carrabba's Italian Grill, in Southport Indiana but I would like to send a message to whoever that may be only to relay our experience of our first time at Carrabba's for lunch. First, I will say that the food was excellent and the service was just as good until I tried to order a second beer to finish my food with, and was told that the manager is the only one that can pour the draft beer! The waitress said that I would have to wait for the manager to return to get another beer so I suggested to the waitress that I possess a liquor"s license and have worked in bars before and would be glad to just go ahead and pour the beer myself. The waitress smiled and reported that due to insurance reasons she could not allow me to get my own beer and then I will just have to wait until the manager comes back. The waitress graciously supplied me with ice water, but not having a beer with my lunch, I chose to set aside the rest of my lunch until I could get another beer. By the time the manager returned to the restaurant, my wife had already finished her food and had a to go box for what she could not finish. The rest of my food was cold, which caused me to relay our story to the Manager and asked for some type of break. She said since we had finished eating and were ready to leave she would just take that one beer I had off my bill. Of course we thanked her and left the restaurant but after thinking about it, on our way home, we just did not feel we were treated the way we should have been for that incident. After careful consideration and talking it over with my wife, we just don't feel that the staffs priorities are in order which really bothered us because we would have loved to return to experience many of the marvellous looking dishes on the menu. Read moreWe had called ahead to be seated at 7 o’clock and were told that whatever time we chose the wait time would be cut in half before anyone who walked in. We decided to wait inside which at first no one really said anything, then the lady there was very rude to us and told us to wait in our car. But when she went around to everybody else who was standing in there she was very nice and professional towards them. We checked in at 7o’clock and was told that the wait time would be 30 to 35 minutes. After waiting 30 to 35 minutes after seven we went back in and asked again when we would be seated. The guy automatically knew our table name. We were told that there were 4 to 5 people in front of us and the guy kind of told us that with a snicker. We asked him how much longer the wait time would be and he said it wouldn’t exceed 30 to 35 minutes which it already had. So we went back outside and waited in our car. So then after waiting 10 more minutes till 7:45 we went back in and asked what was going on. The lady that was rude to us at the beginning said that there were four people in front of us and told us that we had to wait another 30 to 35 minutes. And then she decided to get very nasty with us so we just told her to take us off the list and we will leave and go somewhere else. Read morePlaced online curbside pickup order. Arrived and it appeared restaurant was empty by the look of the parking lot. Order was promptly brought out. After arriving to my destination, we discovered the order was poorly prepared and not as described as online. One entree was missing mushrooms, little sauce, and included noodles that was in a block. Second entree was similar consisting of mostly noodles with little sauce and not much shrimp, with the small portion of shrimp having an old taste and smell. Bread was included which appeared as someone had cut into the loaf and gave us the remaining. Called and spoke with the manager, which the manager promised a refund that has not been issued as of yet. Order was placed 10 days ago.
Update Called back and I was refunded for my purchase. After leaving a review a manager called me and asked who was it that I spoked to previously that said they were issuing the refund. I didn’t know but it sounded like the person who was on the phone. She also asked if I would give them another chance and offered gift cards for me to pick up at the restaurant. I accepted. Few weeks later I went in to give the restaurant another try. I was given gift cards as promised and my guest and I placed our order. The waitress brought out our salads and my guest noticed hair in her salad. I had begun eating mine and thought maybe I should check my salad. There was hair in mine too.
