Came here on a Friday night with a large group to kick off a friend's bachelorette. Overall, for me, this place is like a 3-3.5...but I liked the ambiance and the service was great and I wanna be generous since they had to deal with our large party, so I'm rounding up to a 4. I assume the MOH made a reservation for us but I'm not sure; all I know is I found everyone seated when I arrived. The interior is modern, clean, and pretty. There's a large bar in the center of the restaurant and the menu is of a moderate size with plenty of yummy-sounding options. I had a sweet tea to drink, and it was good sweet tea. Refills came promptly. One of the major drawbacks of our experience was alcoholic drinks, however: one person got a drink they liked so little they didn't even drink it, and another person was really displeased with their martini. I didn't hear any complaints about the sangria that the rest of the table drank, but overall the alcohol situation is much less pleasant than the food. Our party of 8 started with fried pickles and fried green tomatoes for appetizers. I didn't eat any of the tomatoes because I knew I was gonna have the fried green tomato BLT as my main, but I did mostly enjoy the fried pickles. They were pretty greasy (a small puddle of grease in the bottom of the bowl) and the breading needed a little more flavor, but they were very crispy, slightly sour, and I loved the very slightly spicy ranch dip that accompanied them. Overall, main dishes seemed to be met with approval. Lots of folks got one of the two types of burgers on the menu; the Cask burger with pimento cheese was especially well-received. I also heard good things about the meatloaf sandwich. One person did complain that their greens were too salty, but as a Californian I have to wonder if she's just not accustomed to how veggies are cooked in the south, lol. I enjoyed my entrƩe. I've had a fried green tomato BLT before and this one compared favorably; there was plenty of nicely cooked bacon, and the toasted bread was especially good. The tomato itself was a bit lack-luster in that, like the pickles, the breading needed a little bit more kick/seasoning and the tomato was a little tough and hard instead of crispy. But overall I'd give the sandwich a 4/5. The fries resemble McDonald's fries but are less greasy and salty. I liked them. A main shining star was the service: our food and drinks came out quickly, they were quick to grab any extra requests we had, and bless them, they made 8 separate checks for each member of our party. For that, I'm immensely thankful. Thanks for a solid kick-off to a fun weekend!

I’m giving this 2 stars because my food was perfectly fine. & my mimosa was great! I’ve came to cask before during the week, the waitress was sweet & the atmosphere wasn’t bad. (Can’t remember her name). Not a very busy place which is nice especially while having a little one! However, my last experience started off okay but our waitress, Kayla. Whom is manager, shockingly responded back to me and my family with a totally different attitude when she noticed 2 out of 3 customers pressed no tip on the credit card machine. Coming from someone who works in customer service & makes tips as well on a daily. I figured she would appreciate a cash tip more. I always make sure I tip considering my own profession/career. Regardless if the service was mid or 10/10! You could tell she could have potentially been having a bad day. But that’s never an excuse when servicing at a job you choose to work at. Let alone, manage. It was as if she was hesitant about doing anything for our table when asked. We asked for plastic utensils, another mimosa to replace the one that had a piece of hair and/or an eyelash. (Never asked for a refund because we were enjoying ourselves!) but that seemed like an issue…when asking for the utensils. That seemed like it was asking her to go out of her way when she had to already go to the back for the customers that were sat beside us. Which, I’m not sure how satisfied they were. Seeing how they asked for a dinner menu 2hrs after 12pm & the first thing she responded was ā€œwe don’t serve dinner until after 12ā€ you could tell they were a little confused too on why that was said if it was well past 12. Anyway, she brought the credit card machine to our table. She walked away after one of us paid. And when she came back to tell me i needed to sign for my card, she asked me ā€œwas there anything wrong with your service todayā€ & we all were confused because she seemed a little hostile. I responded ā€œI mean It wasn’t the best, but why are you asking that? You seem offended.ā€ She instantly said ā€œbecause no one tippedā€. I told her she doesn’t know what i had In my bag. Referring to me having cash in my bag. I also told her I’d be calling to make a complaint on her because I felt as if that was rude and very unprofessional..everyone has bad days but to confront someone because they pressed no tip on the CARD reader is insane. We also hadn’t even finished paying before she said anything. So, no. I did not leave a tip & I let her know that she ruined that tip when she approached us the way that she did. When I asked for the manager she said it was her. I said okay well I’ll call, because everyone has a boss at the end of the day. My mother is a manager and STILL has a boss. A managers title holds minimum weight. After saying I’ll call she literally asked ā€œwho I was going to callā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ … Nonetheless, i feel like you should lead by example when MANAGING a store. I’m not seeking for anything in return from Kayla’s behavior. However, i truly Hope that she is held accountable. I may not have responded in the best way that i could Have to her. But over all she was wrong & i hope Moving forward she learns to separate work life and personal life. Seeing how, this job is what I’m sure benefits her way of living. I surely would hope just because she’s manager that she doesn’t think her actions wouldn’t be held against her. I hope if i choose to dine with cask again, that she’s having a better day. Until then, with that attitude she will continue having days that...

We have wanted to visit CASK for several years but have just never made it until today when our kids came from out of town. We arrived around 11:15 a.m., the place wasn't busy, everyone was very friendly......great start that unfortunately didn't last. Our server was Kaila (not sure on the spelling) she was very friendly, she took our orders & brought our drinks quickly however, it's obvious that she doesn't drink coffee because we had to stop her as she walked past us to ask for coffee refills (unfortunately, we only got one refill because we couldn't find her after the food was served).... the food came out, I ordered steak & eggs & my side was a biscuit with sausage gravy, the steak was cooked properly but was completely flavorless, the chef needs to taste the food they prepare because it desperately needed salt. The eggs were cooked perfectly however the biscuit was as hard as a hockey puck & the gravy, although very tasty, was cold.....I don't mean just not hot, it was cold like it was just taken from the fridge & put on the plate..... I would gladly have said something to our server however, she couldn't be found with a radar so I ate the steak & eggs. Other than needing seasoning, the steak was good but for $22.00 I was very disappointed in the amount of fat & gristle, literally half of the steak was not edible.

I am typically a 25-30% tipper, I understand how hard the servers work & our kids have worked in restaurants while in college so we make it a habit to be generous to servers.....I wrestled with this one because I really wanted to be generous but I just couldn't reward such poor service, the food, although disappointing, wasn't the servers fault but had she bothered to check on us or even just been in the D.R. so we could have flagged her down, the food could have been fixed but the service was unacceptable, especially given the few patrons that were in the restaurant and with several other servers there so I gave Kaila a 12% tip on a $100 check, I normally would have given her a $25-30.00 tip if she would have just made an effort.

I'm not sure if we'll ever visit CASK again, if we do, I won't order the steak & eggs & I certainly won't order the...
