The Red Hand is always a solid stop. The food is amazing such as the Giant Pretzel, the battered wings (ask them well done to get a great crisp), the Chicken Marsala Special, the burgers (Amazing, Juicy burgers),the Bangers and Mash. The only thing I did care for was the Penne Vodka Sauce and that was a matter of preference. It just didn't remind me of Vodka sauce I have ever had. No bitter notes, no hint of fresh cream or maybe it was just me. Yes, I ordered an Italian Dish in an Irish Pub and I expected it to be good. It wasn't bad either way. The staff however is always the best and the only complaint I would ever imagine is they move too fast lol I surely won't complain about that as I come hungry. I am a fan of their Irish Red namesake beer tho I wish they had Killian's. The atmosphere is great and there is only one seat I wouldn't sit in so plenty of great spots for different occasions and the dinner on the way home by yourself just as much. They host comedy on Friday and Saturday, I haven't checked it out as there is a minimum and I'm not sure what it is but I mainly come to eat. Anyway I can guarantee your odds of having a great time are over 90% on a bad day. So don't worry about the luck of the Irish as you...
Read moreThe bar tender (with a French beard) was rude because 3 of 4 people didn't order a drink, which I didn't know would be the case before taking my friends there. It was probably because we had already had a very heavy meal and drinks from a neighboring restaurant as well. I can understand if he was rude on a busy day if we were occupying seats, but the bar area was pretty empty. Also, I have been here many times and given $1000s of dollars worth of business as I have lived in the neighborhood for 12 years!
Then he refused to accept the card saying the minimum was $15!! It didn't say that anywhere - I feel he just made it up.
Then we had to withdraw money from ATM, spend on ATM fees ( all this in the age of Apple Pay!! And we're not in some remote area) and then when I gave him the money, he literally threw the change back.
I still left a tip cause to be honest I would hate to do the job he does. But such silly things reveal the character of an establishment. A person should do his job with complete professionalism irrespective of how much the client's check is going to be worth. Else don't be in...
Read moreWe got to try the food from Dorrian’s while attending the comedy show they host. It’s huge restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, a large bar , plenty of space. The menu consists lots of beer, wine, mocktails, cocktails, burgers, pizza and few more variety of items. The menu seemed little pricey to me.
I ordered the nachos with beef chili for appetizer. It was such a well made dish. Lots of guacamole, sour cream, jalapeño on top soup delicious beef chili. I got the Rueben for entree that wasn’t too impressive to me. The sandwich was pretty dry, no real sauce in it. Pastrami was dry and hard, almost felt like they were crispy bacon strips.
I got the virgin margarita that was very sour, the lemon flavor overpowered the whole drink. Probably virgin mojito would have been a better choice.
Our servers were wonderful, did a fantastic service, packed our leftovers at the end. Food came out pretty fast. Overall a nice place for...
