I came on to write a review and was confused by all the good reviews, maybe it was just a bad day! However; I’ll share my experience.
We arrived on Wednesday morning and they were steady but not overly busy. We had a party of 6 so, we weren’t surprised that we had to wait to be seated..... however.... we waited and waited, and waited some more - meanwhile, parties of 4 and 5 were being seated immediately upon arrival. I didn’t speak up until a party of 6 came in after we’d been waiting about 25 minutes and they were seated immediately. It seems that although we were standing in the lobby area the entire time, the two hostesses forgot we were there...idk...
So fast forward and we finally get seated! We get our breakfast ordered and we wait. Our waitress was nice but she seemed distracted and kept gazing off elsewhere while taking our order so everyone had to repeat a few times. Our wait was excessive. Literally, everyone got pancakes and I got an omelette. It didn’t make sense to take so long. I wanted to blame it on being short staffed but sadly that was far from the case. For example, there was literally an employee dancing in the small hallway between the dining area and the kitchen. 😂 I don’t know if he was supposed to be working or not but he sure was having a good ol time!
So, now the food finally comes and everyone is super excited since we’ve heard great things. 3 out of 4 of my children ate a couple bites and said it tasted “weird”, the 4th child got peanut butter pancakes and he thoroughly enjoyed them - he wanted to go back because he liked them so much but I definitely would never spend money there again. My omelette was already cold upon being brought to the table.
Our bill came to over $70. We paid and tipped at 25% despite the issues but next time we visit the dells, we won’t be going to Mr. Pancake.
I hope this was an odd experience and that this...
Read moreMy family and I had enjoyed breakfast here in the past and were looking forward to a nice breakfast last week on our vacation. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
The prices have gone up and the portions sizes and quality have gone down, along with the service. The waitress acted like she couldn’t be bothered to wait on us. My daughter ordered the chocolate and chocolate chip waffles with ice cream. It came drenched in chocolate syrup that was almost inedible and no chocolate chips. I ordered the hot fudge banana split waffle, thinking it was the same as prior years and it wasn’t. No pecans, small waffle, hardly any ice cream or bananas and the whip cream came from a can, not the homemade like before. Definitely not worth the $13. We ordered a side of scrambled eggs, they arrived cold and looked like they were the leftovers scraped from the bottom of the pan that had been sitting. They definitely weren’t two eggs. We had to ask the waitress for our eggs and she was confused, reminded her and she went and got them. Then had to ask for condiments, to which she just stared at us like we weren’t speaking English, got an eye roll. My husband had to try to wave her down multiple times before he could get a refill on his coffee. The waitress never came by to see if we wanted or needed anything else. But when it was time to pay the bill, which we did at the table because I was using my debit card and she saw I had to give the forced tip, her attitude changed and asked if there was anything else she could do. If I had the chance, I would’ve customized the tip. What I was forced to tip was definitely not worth the service we received.
I’ve attached photos of the hot fudge banana split waffle from 2020 when they were good and had better owners and the one from our visit last week, since new owners have taken over. Which would you...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! My family and I went to eat breakfast there (like we usually did every year we were there) and unfortunately, the service was horrible! The waitress did her best trying to service the 13 of us; even though she got the majority of our order wrong, touched our food to see if it was cold (after one of us complained), microwaved it and attempted to serve it again.
When I went up to the register to pay for my group of 4 (remember they can't do separate bills), I asked the cashier (older lady with black hair) to add up my part so that I could pay. She DEMANDED that the entire group come up to the front and pay so that she wouldn't be left "short" with the bill. Did she just insinuate that my family would "steal"- Oh yes she did!!!! She then proceeded to hand me a calculator and pen and told me that it wasn't her responsibility to figure out what my part of the bill was, and to also figure in the tax and gratuity.
By then my family started to come up to the register where the casher was extremely rude to them all insisting that we needed to break out the check ourselves. She insulted my aunt and I demanded to speak to the manager. Several minutes later the manager arrived and instead of taking accountability for the incident- he made excuses. As a paying customer, I don't care about excuses, I only wanted a resolution. I got no where with the manager as you could CLEARLY see that he didn't care and just wanted my group to leave. I asked for the phone number of the owner and tried calling her several times but never got through because there was no voicemail and the "cashier"/ "receptionist" wouldn't take my information.
