First off, I do not leave reviews soon after the experience, just so I am not leaving a review under emotions. However, 2 weeks have passed and I am here to share my unfortunate experience that I’ve endured here at Pizza pub.
First off, I do understand that the weekend I visited was one of the busiest weekends at the dells during automation. However, it does not excuse the poor service my friend and i experienced.
Starting with seating, they sat us amongst the (maybe half full) dining room and patiently waited for our server to come collect our order. A half hour went by after they sat us before we even met our server to get a drink order in. So, as you might expect, we were a little excited to get our food ordered at the same time they took our alcohol and water order. Now at this point, my buddy was not feeling well and was very parched for just his water that we both have ordered. I could’ve done without my alcoholic beverage, however when in Rome, right?
Quite some time has passed now, and we have FINALLY received the food we have ordered. Without silverwear or napkins. And what was missing? Our waters and a zesty beverage. The food was mediocre, i wont say it was bad by any means, however was less than satisfying without at least a water to wash it down with. At this point, my friend can’t eat with how dehydrated he is after consuming a few bites of food. Now I’m starting to get frustrated. I run to the bar to pleasantly ask for a water from the bar, just for them to say i need to find my server. (Cannot remember her name for the life of me, thankfully for her sake) and once finding her stumbling out of the kitchen, I mentioned to her of our desperation for at least a water. She went on to explain that they are having a “shortage of beverages”. I went on to explain that at this point, i no longer need my alcohol and my friend and i would just appreciate some water. Maybe 20-25 mins later, we finally got 1 glass each. Which, due to how thirsty we were, was gone immediately. And, to no surprise at this point, she was still not to be found.
My friend and I are just amazed at this point, so we wanted to just pay and leave ASAP. She came back around at some point to say sorry for the services so far, and we politely asked to get the check so we can leave and enjoy the rest of our evening. 25 more minutes goes by, and we still have yet to see our check. We ended up grabbing a menu and doing the math to see what our bill would’ve roughly came out to be, and just left cash on the table. Needless to say, there was not much left on the table for her Tip. I am a firm believer that you earn what you make in this world. So, after sitting for over 2 hours and maybe 30 minutes of it actually enjoying the atmosphere and having food in front of me, I would safely say that I am no longer making the pizza pub a part of our dells weekend routine for dining. The following morning, we visited the moose jaw right down the road, and based off of the low standards that the pizza pub set for the weekend, my friend and I were blown away!
I can only assume that this is not the typical dining experience that the pizza pub provides, given that I have been there in years past, but, would now proceed with caution if considering dining here versus the numerous other dining establishments...
Read moreOk so most of the time I don’t publically talk bad about a business but this one really got me because of the complete lack of customer service and the fact that we literally drove to Wisconsin Dells just to eat at Pizza Pub-Wisconsin Dells
On Father’s Day we drove 2 hours to get some broasted chicken and more importantly the salad bar. We were on their site the night prior and saw the weekly specials and on Sundays it was the chicken and all weekly specials came with the salad bar included.
We got to pizza pub and it was pretty empty, we sat down and ordered our drinks. Looking over the menu we didn’t see the weekly specials so I asked the waitress and she said they no longer offered the daily specials. If we wanted the salad bar we had to pay $8.99 on top of the $17.99 price for the chicken plate. I personally think that’s a huge add on but whatever, however I just briefly said “oh I saw on the site the special” She stated that is was no longer correct and walked off to give us time to look over the menu.
About a minute later she came back and said. “Can you show me where you saw it on the website so we can take it down”. I pulled up the site by going to google and searching for “pizza pub daily specials” and it was the first link. Clicked on it and showed her. She went and grabbed two different managers to show them. They asked me to show them and both said they couldn’t find it on their site on their phones even though I showed them step by step how to. They didn’t show me their phones though, then both kept them somewhat covered. I walked them both through the steps to show them and asked the managers “so can you value this price since it’s still public” both of them said no very rudely.
Now it is what it is BUT HERE IS THE PART THAT INFURIATED ME! As they were standing there I did the search one more time and the link that was active, was no longer. This means as they were standing there talking to me, one of them was deleting the page from the site RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! I was pissed and told them well we are leaving and we will just pay for our sodas, which none of us had taken a drink of except maybe my daughter. We still had to pay $10 for the drinks.
I will absolutely never return to this place as it’s not the price, it’s the principle of the matter that they came back to our table and said “show us so we can delete it” without even offering the value it. Both of the men that came to the table were very rude and almost tried to make us feel like we did something wrong finding the TOP SEARCH RESULT. Then to literally delete the page off the site right in front of us even thought they said “we don’t see that page” right after I walked them step by step how I found it. Also while I’m typing this I just did a search again and the page is back up but has a different URL. As a web designer I notice stuff like that.
We weren’t asking for our meal to be free, we just wanted the included salad bar as stated on the website. This was a major letdown and really put a damper on Father’s Day and our day trip to the Dells. Thankfully we went to Ponderosa Wisconsin Dells and had some of the best customer service I’ve ever had...
Read moreHonest Review of Pizza Pub (throughout this review I say Hub, I apologize.)
When my family and I visited Pizza Hub, we were a large party—so naturally, we were extra careful with our order. The dishes were already majorly pricey, so we planned everything down to the last detail to stay within budget. All of us ended up ordering Alfredo—just Alfredo—and our server offered optional toppings like grilled or fried chicken breast and broccoli. We each chose one.
What we weren’t told is that those toppings came with hefty extra charges. The chicken (just a few tiny pieces, barely a serving) cost $5 each cut PEICE, and the broccoli was $1.50. None of this was mentioned when ordering—not even a quick heads-up—which would’ve drastically changed how we ordered… or led us to leave entirely.
When the bill came, our faces went pale. It totaled well over $100—despite our careful planning—because we were unknowingly charged for extras we thought were standard or complimentary. We understand that add-ons may cost more, but it's common practice (and basic courtesy) to inform customers of that. Especially when serving a large group on one bill.
Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, I called the restaurant afterward to let management know—politely—that the charges weren’t clearly communicated. I wasn’t angry. I didn’t ask for a refund. I just wanted to raise awareness in case it was an honest mistake. Unfortunately, the man who answered was dismissive, condescending, and refused to listen. I kept repeating, “I’m not upset, just letting you know,” but he insisted on reading my order back to me like I didn’t understand. He completely ignored the actual issue and turned the whole conversation into a lecture—before abruptly hanging up on me.
I didn’t call to argue. I wasn’t even mad—until that call. It was a frustrating, unprofessional experience that left me feeling unheard and disrespected.
So I’m leaving this review to help other people avoid the same situation. If you visit Pizza Hub, ask about extra charges—because they might not tell you.
Now, to be fair, here are the positives:
The staff at the restaurant (excluding the man I spoke with on the phone) were kind and patient. The space was clean and well-maintained. The food portions were generous, and while not spectacular, the food itself wasn’t bad.
Thanks for reading—I hope this helps someone make an...
