A Hidden Gem in the Dells: Blux is a Must-Visit!
If you find yourself in Wisconsin Dells and you don’t stop at Blux, you are seriously missing out on one of the best dining experiences the area has to offer. My visit here turned out to be a full-on food adventure—comfort food classics with elevated flavors, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family, and the quality of the food backed up every bit of hype we’d heard beforehand.
We ordered the Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese, and let me tell you—this dish is everything you want when you’re craving rich, hearty, soul-satisfying food. The mac and cheese itself was creamy, perfectly cheesy, and had just the right amount of bite in the noodles. Then on top of that, the pulled pork was tender, smoky, and just melted into the cheese like it was meant to be there all along. The smoky BBQ flavor laced into the cheese sauce made every bite unforgettable. It wasn’t just comfort food—it was next-level comfort food.
We also tried one of their signature burgers, and it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with toppings that actually made sense—no gimmicks, just high-quality ingredients done right. The bun was toasted just right, holding everything together without getting soggy. Every bite had that perfect balance of textures and flavors. It was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in the Dells (and I’ve tried a lot).
And then, the cherry on top—half-price shakes. Honestly, they could charge full price and I’d still go back for more. These shakes were thick, creamy, and full of flavor. You could tell they were made with care and real ingredients, not the fake sugary stuff you get at some chains. We got a couple different ones to try (because who can decide on just one?), and every sip was like dessert heaven in a glass. They made the perfect sweet finish to an already phenomenal meal.
The ambiance in Blux is great too—laid-back, clean, with a modern twist. It’s the kind of place where you can come as you are, but still feel like you’re getting something special. The staff was attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. That kind of energy is infectious and really added to the overall experience.
In short: Blux hits every mark. Whether you’re visiting the Dells for a family trip, a couples getaway, or just passing through, this place deserves a stop. Incredible food, awesome value, and a vibe that makes you want to come back again and again. I’m already looking forward to my next trip just to eat here again.
5 stars without hesitation. Blux, you’ve earned a...
Read moreI visited this location with my family for some great-tasting burgers and famous shakes! We arrived around 7 p.m. on a weekday and were seated relatively quickly. We had a party of 6: my husband, our four children, and myself. Our waiter greeted up quickly and began to take our order. I feel like that was the end of our mediocre visit. Our food took quite some time to arrive. We had finished our appetizer long before our dinner arrived. We ordered the loaded chili totchos, tater tots with chili, cheese, sour cream, and salsa for an appetizer. I enjoyed this started very much; however, some of my family members were not fans. 3 out of the 6 enjoyed it. The tater tots were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mixture of all the ingredients was excellent. The portion is also a generous amount. However, getting our waiters' attention was challenging after our appetizers were delivered. For entrees, I ordered the Buffalo Blue Chicken Burger with a salad, the children ordered the mac and cheese with fries, and my husband purchased the Texas Tornado. My burger was fantastic. I love buffalo sauce, and this burger covered this portion. The salad was also excellent. The ranch was a little thick for my taste, but it was still pleasing to eat. My kids did not like the macaroni and cheese. None of them finished their meals, and they are great eaters. My husband's burger was great as well. However, his burger and mine were cold. I believe it sat in their window for quite some time before we were served. It seemed as though we were the last thing on our waiter's mind. I honestly believe he forgot about us at one point. It was also difficult to get refills since our server was not very attentive. Lastly, I did purchase the Mango Tango Rita, and this drink was delicious. They did not disappoint with the alcohol. All in all, we did not end up purchasing their famous shakes because of how long we ended up spending at this establishment and the annoyance of having to wait long periods of time between visits. It seemed that the bigger parties or 10+ received the most attention. The food was good but not great. Had the service been better, I believe that our food would've tasted better because, at this point, the experience wasn't great. (I would like to state that our 6-year-old has Type one diabetes, and we gave him his insulin before he ate. He started to tank very low because of how long the food took to come out. I had to provide him with my soda so that he could increase his blood glucose back into the safe zone.) This restaurant is in Wisconsin Dells, a tourist city, so it's essential information for other T1D...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would, and that really sucks because i've been here a few times before, and I do like the milkshakes a lot. Let me tell you my reasoning for giving this restaurant "one" star. The following incident that happened: My parents and my 6 year old daughter and I went there this afternoon. We walked in the door and noticed the sign that said, "Please wait to be seated." So we waited and waited... When no one came, we decided we'll just grab some menus and sit down and look, and we'll flag somebody down when we see them. We started walking to a table, We hadn't sat down when finally the hostess showed up. She pointed to the sign and said, "You have to wait to be seated"-in a grumpy tone. Okay, fine. So we walked back over to the hostess stand as we walked over there. Another group of I believe 4 people walked in. The hostess then grabs the menus and goes to seat them when clearly she saw that we were there first. I spoke up. I said we were here before them, and she said, "I'm going to seat them first." At this point, we were annoyed. My parents said, "Let's just go somewhere else. I said okay, but hold on. They waited by the door for me with my daughter as I walked up to the bar. I asked the bartender what the hostess name was. The hostess then comes over to me by the bar and says to the bartender, "Don't give her my name." I said fine, and she started walking away back to the hostess stand. I took a photo of her. She turns around. I take another photo of her hoping she had a name tage on and i would get it later. Then I start to walk out the door with my mom, dad and daughter. All a sudden she comes up behind me and smacks my head Trying to get my phone out of my hand. In disbelief at this point!! Did the hostess of a restaurant just come up and hit me in the head?! My parents step between us. She says she's gonna call the police We tell her OK! And of course she doesn't call the police ( obviously because she's the one who assaulted me. Why would she be that dumb to call the cops) but I called them for her after leaving that establishment. Needless to say, I won't be going back there, and I hope to god that the owners or managers fire her cause that is just unacceptable!! Also when I talked to the police they said that the manager wished I would have come in instead of leaving. Why in the hell would I have gone back in there after one of their employees...
