Order: 5 Tacos (Spicy Shrimp, Gobernador, Octopus Chicharron, Spicy Octopus, & Marlin Adobada) Price: $28 Positives: Holy sh** this seafood its crazy good, the octopus especially might be some of the best I’ve ever had, the price for what you’re getting is pretty amazing Negatives: Pretty small space but it’s so freakin worth it. tldr: GO EAT HERE! Unless you don’t like seafood, then please accept my deepest sympathies. But if you like seafood this might end up on the list of best places you’ve ever eaten.
Thoughts: Day two, stop seven, and still basically just eating tacos. We noticed that Bajamar seemed to have a 5 star rating on yelp despite also having over 500 reviews. This meant that either, the impossible was happening, or this food was really freakin good. And seeing as it was seafood and tacos we had it on the list as a must try.
The inside is very small, not quite a broom closet, but I’ve seen bigger coffee shops. The owner was super nice and directed us to grab a seat from any of the few empty tables and he would be right there. We grabbed some menus and started looking over the options and found that it’s a fairly short menu and consists mostly of octopus, marlin, shrimp and a few other fish prepared several different ways, many of them in tacos. My wife and I absolutely adore octopus when it’s done well, and the places we have had it cooked well is pretty short, so we decided to give that a try we also threw in a shrimp taco and marlin taco because you can’t really go wrong there right?
The tacos showed up at the table a few minutes later and our life was changed forever. The flavors were so good it was unreal. The marlin adobada was smokey and perfectly spicy, the shrimp was cooked wonderfully, but the winner was the octopus. It was perfect! Just a tiny bit of chewiness without being rubbery, seasoned beautifully, the fried octopus wasn’t dried out. My god, I really think I could have just eaten octopus tacos until I fell into a food comma.
I could rant and rave about all these tacos but clearly 500 some other people have already done that. I’ll just chime in to say that they are all 100% correct. Bajamar Seafood is absolutely amazing, and worth whatever it takes to get there and devour seafood tacos like a ravenous shark. We named it our favorite restaurant we visited while we were in Vegas and one of the best seafood restaurants we’ve ever been to period.
Do yourself a favor and get to Bajamar soon if you...
Read moreOn 10/25/2022 at 4:33 pm, a party of 7 visited your Las Vegas Blvd location. To begin we waited outside for over 10 minutes to be let in. Once inside the woman server with glasses was not very welcoming. She seemed overwhelmed. No tables were available to accommodate our party of 7 to sit together and conversate. The Server mentioned there were two separate tables literally outside of the door in front of the restrooms. One table would accommodate 4 and another table 3. My husband and I did not want to eat our food while we can hear people using the restroom so we moved to the bar. At this time 2 people at the bar 2 people at a back table and 3 at a totally separate table. It did not occur to us to ask for septate checks since we were all sitting in different areas of the restaurant. When I asked for the check everything was charged together. I asked the server to please give us separate checks since she was not able to accommodate our party sitting together as a whole. Her response was " You came together doesn't matter where you sit, your still a party of 7" what a ridiculous response. She also stated her system did not allow her to separate checks. To begin with, she did not even take all our orders together at a table as a whole she initially took the order from the back tables jumped to other guest's orders then took my husband's and my order, secondly, another party of 2 people walked in before us, sat at the bar when their bill came they stated they wanted to pay separately and she separated their bill! She charged us intentionally together so she could add the 20% gratuity, this is a deceiving manner of conducting business we were all going to leave a gratuity. Even more of what she tagged on. The principal is how you are conducting business is deceiving and poor. As I stated it is not even about the money. It is a deceiving and poor business practice. Which left a very bad taste in my mouth not allowing me to even enjoy your restaurant or food. As for your server, she stated we should have asked for separate checks it is common sense if we are all sitting at separate tables why would we want a...
Read moreThe place is nice, the servers and staff were all good, but the value for what you get there is absolutely atrocious. When we sat down we asked if they had chips and salsa, they said they have either chips and guac or chips and beans, and we asked for both. It came in a smallish bowl with not very many chips, or beans or guacamole, but they were $9 and $6.50 @ respectively. So we paid $15.50 for something that at most Mexican restaurants we would affectively get for free (chips and salsa). My friend wanted to order off the kids menu strictly so she could get something that was only available on the kids menu, not just because she wanted to pay less,, But they wouldn't let her do that, so she asked if she could just get a normal sized version of the kids menu item and they said no. The tacos I had were good, a tiny bit overpriced but that wasn't terrible but then the coup de gras on the overpricing was I asked for a soda and they brought one out in a can, which is no big deal, but I ordered another one, and they recharged me, so I paid $7 for two cans of soda, and I asked for some extra pickled onions for my tacos and they even charged me $0.75 for that, even though our bill was already $45 for what could generously be stated as costing $30 at almost any other Mexican style restaurant. It's too bad too, the tacos were good, but I don't like feeling...
