Loose Leaf Boba Company is tucked away right behind The Biltmore Los Angeles hotel in DTLA, and it's an absolute must-try for authentic Taiwanese-style boba tea. What sets this place apart is their perfectly cooked boba pearls – they've mastered that ideal chewy texture that's neither too soft nor too hard. As someone who's tried countless boba shops around LA, I can confidently say most places make their drinks way too sweet, but Loose Leaf Boba Company strikes the perfect balance with their authentic Asian-style preparation. I ordered their popular Golden Matcha Milk Tea, and wow! They use organic matcha that creates this beautifully balanced flavor profile with the tea and boba pearls. I love Loose Leaf! While staying nearby in DTLA over a few days, I must have frequented this spot at least three times, and it was great each and every time.

The tea quality here is superb. You can really tell they are conscious about brewing high quality teas that aren't made from powder like some boba shops. All of the purees and flavorings are also made in house, so you are definitely getting quality boba.

I would order drinks ranging from Brown Sugar Milk Teas to Lattes, each with the ability to substitute oat milk as a non-dairy option and to control the sweetness and ice. It was a perfect blend each time and the boba baristas even ask to make sure it was to my liking, or that they would remake the drink.

No doubt I would come back here again if I am in the area and needing high quality...

One of the unique boba stores in the Melrose/Fairfax area that you gotta try out. I'm a tea lover, so I always try different tea and add cheese foam (or sea salted cream) on top with boba and reduce the sugar level to 70% so I can taste the strongness of the tea; if not, It will straight sugar drink. I like the tea and different tea options they offer here and its quality! You can either order yourself (repeated clients because you already know how it works) or with the cashier (first-timers to ask questions about different things). Sometimes the service is slow due to a lack of staff.
