I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful gastronomic experience at a local Halal Indian restaurant, where the highlight of my meal was the delectable combination of Chicken Kadai and freshly baked Naan bread. The incredible flavors and authentic preparation left a lasting impression, making it a memorable experience worth sharing.
Let's delve into the star attraction of the meal—the Chicken Kadai. From the moment it arrived at my table, the enticing aroma of spices filled the air, providing a hint of the culinary delight to come. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, immersed in a luscious gravy infused with a harmonious blend of traditional Indian spices. The dish struck an ideal balance, offering a delightful fusion of heat and depth of flavor that didn't overwhelm the palate. Every bite was a pleasure, as the succulent chicken absorbed the essence of the spices, resulting in a delightful combination of taste and texture.
Complementing the flavorful Chicken Kadai was the freshly baked Naan bread, a true masterpiece in its own right. Prepared in a traditional clay oven, the Naan emitted an enticing aroma and possessed a delightful chewiness. Its slightly charred edges and soft center created a pleasing contrast, making it the perfect accompaniment for savoring every last bit of the aromatic Chicken Kadai. A light brushing of ghee enhanced its richness, adding an extra layer of indulgence.
The presentation of the dish was visually appealing, featuring vibrant colors and generous portions that left me feeling satisfied. The attentive and friendly staff at the restaurant provided excellent service, ensuring that my dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable.
The only reason I didn't award a full five-star rating is that the spice level of the Chicken Kadai might be too intense for those who prefer milder flavors. While I personally relished the heat, toning it down slightly could make the dish more accessible to a broader range of palates.
To sum it up, if you're seeking a remarkable Halal Indian dining experience, I highly recommend trying the Chicken Kadai and Naan at this restaurant. The expertly crafted flavors, tender chicken, and freshly baked Naan combine harmoniously to create an unforgettable symphony of taste. Although the spiciness might be a bit overwhelming for some, the overall culinary journey offered is well worth it. Give it a try and let your taste buds transport you to the vibrant...
Read moreThis place ruined my night. I went there for dinner and we ordered Tofu Ya Chickpea, Aloo mattar and samosa chaat. All these items had cashews in them but nothing was listed in the description of any of these items. As soon as I took a bite from the Tofu dish I felt my throat closing up and asked the server if they used any nuts in the naan because I thought there was something spread on it but the server just said no. When I asked if there were nuts in the other dishes, that’s when he said “yeah all of our dishes have cashews in it”. We asked him if he could take it back and replace it with another dish but he said no because it was already made and brought out. I told him I have allergies to cashews and he just casually replied that it was our job to inform them of any allergies. But why would we think of that when it’s not our job and it wasn’t mentioned in any of the item description so why would we assume there were nuts in the first place. We told him it should be mentioned in the menu because people can have serious life threatening allergies. And then he goes on to tell us all Indian dishes are made with cashews in them. How can you run a restaurant with no precaution when serving people with dietary restrictions??
In the end he thought he did us a favour by letting us know that he took off $8 from the two sodas we ordered 😒🙄 We ended up paying around $70 and when we came home and read the reviews online we noticed that we weren’t the only ones that experienced similar issues in regards to allergies!! Clearly they aren’t bothered by previous incidents, so health authorities should definitely step in. Even after having only a bite or two I felt nauseous the whole time and eventually ended up throwing up before I even got home. What bothered me even more was that they didn’t bother taking off one of the items off the bill. I should have just stayed there until I threw up so that they could realize how serious this issue is.
Side note - they’re stingy with their take...
Read moreIndian here. Visited this restaurant as it was the one Indian place on South Beach and with decent ratings. I don't know if it was an off day or what, but I would not come here if you were looking for good Indian food.
We ordered the Samosa Chaat for the appetizer. The samosas felt reheated/frozen. Nothing wrong with it but taste was bang average, a solid 5/10.
For main course we had Aloo Matar. The gravy was good however a lot of the potato pieces were uncooked/raw in the middle. 6/10
We ordered a garlic naan to go with it, but I don't think it resembled a naan- more like a papad. It was hard, crispy/crusty, not fluffy and soft at all. This is easily the worst "naan" i have had in my life, I do not even know how it would be made like that. This was a farce, especially for that price. 0/10
The server was super friendly so thats a plus. Also, there was no tap water served with the meal and we had to buy a bottle. I have never been to a place that does not atleast offer a glass of water complimentary.
Also, the restaurant levies a service charge, which seems to be the norm at South Beach. Just a heads up so as to you dont fall for double tipping!
Edit: After scrolling through other reviews, I noticed two things: The downright rude response of the owner to bad reviews, every single one of them. If you are not going to be open to criticism, you won't improve. Listening to customer experiences and taking them in stride is important - both good and bad ones.
Secondly, I see a lot of AI-worded 5 star reviews. You will know when you read them if you have spent any amount of time with ChatGPT. and these are from accounts that have no other reviews. This is probably how the restaurant has a 4.4 rating. I dont know why or who would do this, but make of this information...
