Deer Camp MKE | Camp Bar — Restaurant in Milwaukee

Our visit to Deer Camp MKE | Camp Bar was just okay. We’re not big drinkers, and unfortunately, they didn’t have the non-alcoholic beer selection that many places seem to offer these days. We ordered two pretzels, but the cheese came in a prepackaged plastic cup, which felt like a missed opportunity to elevate their food options and show more care in their menu.

The overall vibe leaned heavily toward a binge-drinking atmosphere, likely appealing more to the college crowd. It wasn’t quite the relaxed, chill environment we were hoping for. That said, the atmosphere was festive, and they do an amazing job with holiday decorations—it’s clear they put effort into creating a lively and fun seasonal setting.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about their locations is the free popcorn—it’s a small touch that’s always nice to see and enjoy.

We were told from the bartender, “I’m not smiling or joking. Get out” and, “I don’t care why you’re here” (when we were there for a wedding) at 1:45am when they closed at 2am. All staff was incredibly rude, despite our group ordering, and tipping well on, pitchers of beer. This is the third time we’ve experienced incredibly rude bartenders, so we figured it may beneficial to leave a review. We were told to use the port-a-potties instead of using their indoor bathrooms before...

I would never recommend this place to anyone. But if you do go here, and pay by card, keep your receipt and write your tip amount on it. They added money onto my payment one night. And the manager had nothing to say about it. He actually hung up on me when I called to resolve the issue. Very unfortunate and who knows how many people they have taken...
