Thai-namite at Milwaukee Public Market — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I had a pleasant experience ordering take-out from Thainamite in the Public Market for lunch. I’ve eaten there in person, but this time I used the Ritual app. It was handy to order, but a little awkward on the pick-up. We had to stand in front of the touch screen for a few minutes before we were acknowledged, although that is what you are supposed to do. Anyways, it was lunch time so obviously busy, but it would have been nice if someone had said hello or something, as we didn’t know if we were picking up our orders the way we should.

Anyways, on to the food. I selected the Chicken Satay appetizer and the Fresh Rolls. The Chicken Satay was tasty – the chicken was nice and tender, and the sauce was pleasant. The little shot of cucumbers in vinegar that came alongside was oddly welcome, but I do like vinegar. The Fresh Rolls were like a spring roll but with less vegetables and fried egg inside along with tofu, rice noodles, cucumber, and lettuce. On their own, they were somewhat bland, but with the sauce it was delicious; the peanut sauce is excellent.

One of the highlights of our visits has been the wonderful quick grab-and-go items. Their spring rolls and pot stickers are simply fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a snack or light meal. But our absolute favorites are the steam buns! They are incredibly soft, packed with delicious fillings, and always hit the spot.

Horrible experience!! I went to this branch only because the Tosa branch (which is AMAZING!!) is closed on Mondays. I placed an order for fried rice with tofu for take out and when I came home and opened the box, there was no tofu. Moreover, the rice itself was wet and soggy and was sweet in spite of me asking for the highest spice level. Called the store immediately for a refund, but because I paid cash it was a little tricky to process it and was told that the employee (who was very nice!) would speak to the manager and try to find a solution. After receiving no follow up call, I called again and was told that the manager would call back and “take care of it” by the next day. I’m still waiting for a call… Would’ve given 0 stars...
