Read moreI feel compelled to tell a story about our recent experiences here. These guy are, BY FAR, our favorite kids on the block. Our group is from NW Indiana has been coming up there 4 or 5x a yr for weekend party getaways bc, frankly, Chicago sucks. Anyway, we were in there a couple weeks ago towards the end of the evening and hit the rooftop bar. Their bartendress, Samantha, up there was awesome. Cute as a button, attentive, engaging, funny, sassy and cool. We came back this past weekend and came in on Friday BC of her and the vibe of the joint. We had a blast. Finished a nearly bottle of your top shelf bourbon and the GM Lawrence wasted no time at all, despite how busy you guys were, and found us another bottle without even asking. We would have been perfectly content sampling the rest of your impressive choice of options. My wife later decided she wanted one of your zip up hoodies. Her size wasn't readily available from your stock. Their Ops Mgr, Ricardo, went above and beyond and damn near dismantled the display case to check the size of the display piece. It worked and he made the sale being completely friendly and NEVER pushy. We came back the next evening because of the level of customer service we got on Friday. The SECOND we walked thru the door we were met by your GM Lawrence: "Hey, yall are back for more! These people at the end of the bar are leaving, c'mon." And walked us over to the seats. He spoke with the bartender, made a motion in our direction and before you knew it the bar was cleaned and we had fresh cocktail napkins and drink orders being taken. TRULY VIP service. We were blown away. I was most impressed with even being remembered, let alone THAT level of customer service. In an area of LITERALLY dozens of options to drink/eat/party at, they've set the standard for service that will bring people back. Already looking to book our next trip. Thanks for the unforgettable experience, can't wait to come back. Signed,...
Read moreThis was our second time at Uncle Buck's and our second disappointment. This time I feel I had to say something. We came in and were seated at a table right away. We ordered a Vodka Cranberry and a High Life. The server came back after several minutes and informed us they were out of High Life and asked if I still wanted a Vodka Redbull, which I politely corrected and said it was a Vodka Cranberry. At the same time we also placed an order for Cheese Curds.
Some time later, I received my drink and it was extremely weak and the ice was almost completely melted from sitting for too long. Our food arrived a few minutes later and immediately we could tell something was off. The cheese curds were completely clumped together (literally the size of a baseball- see picture) and had burnt bits in other parts. To add insult to injury, our basket was overflowing with fries??? We double checked the menu and sure enough, the dish they labeled "Cheese Curds" had a tiny disclaimer in the description that it also contained seasoned fries. Extremely misleading and definitely a cheap move. Our server didn't check back on us, so after we finished our drinks I flagged him down. I stated our "Cheese Curds" were inedible and showed him the massive chunks of greasy cheese, he immediately took it away, apologized and said he would talk to the fry cook. I thanked him and asked for our check.
He came back and said that he "talked to the cook" and then gave us our bill for full price. It was a complete slap to the face that we were still expected pay for an appetizer that we sent over half of back. Our server was very busy and I would never want to be a Karen, so I just paid it and we went on our way. I don't think we will ever be back to this establishment based on the low quality food and the...
