Best Ice Cream in Nashville - and a Sweet New Staple at Nashville Yards!
Handel's is nothing short of amazing. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by friendly, welcoming faces that make it feel like a true neighborhood spot -- even if you're visiting for the first time. The team is kind, upbeat, and clearly takes pride in serving what I'd argue is the best ice cream in Nashville.
The portion sizes are massive (especially compared to spots like Jeni's) and the value is unbeatable. All the ice cream is made fresh in-house, and you can absolutely taste the difference. If you're new to Handel's, I highly recommend starting with the 4-scoop sampler -- it's perfect for trying a variety of flavors (and trust me, you'll want to).
For the adventurous sweet tooth, there's the Monster Shake -- a challenge and a dessert all in one! You'll also find: Hand-packed pints & quarts Classic and specialty sundaes (Hot Fudge Brownie, Turtle, Banana Split - chef's kiss) Shakes, malts, and Hurricanes (like DQ Blizzards, but chunkier and BETTER) Root beer floats, ice cream sandwiches, and quick drinks if you're just swinging by
The shop is located right next to the Pinnacle Music Venue, making it the perfect post-show stop after a concert, comedy show, or night on the town. Out front, there's a spacious yard that regularly hosts live music, trivia nights, yoga, and big game watch parties -- and with new neighbors like Fogo de Chão, Cullachino's, and Hooky opening soon, this area is set to become one of Nashville's hottest hangout spots.
Whether you're a local or just discovering Nashville Yards, Handel's is a must-visit. It's family-oriented, full of good vibes, and packed with unforgettable flavors.
Come for the ice cream, stay for the atmosphere -- and leave already planning...
Read moreLoved this place. Happened to stop on on a walk with my girlfriend. Super nice staff that let us to try multiple flavors (out of the MANY that they had), and all of them were delicious. Big portions, not overpriced. I also appreciate that it has a genuine retro, friendly feel, which makes sense since apparently the company has been around for decades. Contrast this with other places that try to be the next overpriced “cool” spot that uses influencers to flood social media with paid-for posts. It’s nice to have something truly authentic...
Read moreThe place has like 50 diferent unique flavors and not the bad kind either. Serving sizes are alot so you get your moneys worth. Check out the menu before you go because theres alot of options you can chose, compared to other competitors. They have like 20 people working there at one time so just be ready for 1 or 2 people to serve you while everyone else caries on with their conversations or stares at you! The place is new so maybe thats why. Place has a bright future once Nashville Yards becomes more on the map and starts...
