Terrible experience. went there wanting to experience nice food from another culture and enjoy the atmosphere and meal. and in an empty restaurant we got seated in a smelly corner where they kept their employee jackets. We asked to sit elsewhere, they said there were too many reservations....which is understandable. but then we see them see a party of 2 who DID NOT have reservations were sat at a table for 6, and even let them make arrangements of their seating. The the waiters never checked in on us, other tables who were seated well after us got water refills but not us, and our pitched was completely empty and it was very difficult to get their attention given where we were seated. They place our condiment bottles on the seats next to us instead of on our table and they were filthy, I barley wanted to use them and our appetizers came our with our meal, I can excuse that if the meals were just that quick to cook, but to me it felt just a tad bit rushed, but I could be picky there. The hospitality was terrible and unacceptable. I had no idea whether I was to bring my check up to a register or wait for someone, didn't even know where the register was because of the placing of our table, and when I did get up to pay, they looked at me as if I was crazy and said they would come to me....We wait 10-25 minutes before I stood up I told him, no one came to take our check. I wish I could say it was because they were packed....but they really were not. it felt like a case of racial profiling and I would not recommend eating there if you're a person of color. I only say this because it was me and my wife and another larger party in the establishment, the party before us were white, where they were seated vs where we were, was a big comparison in quality. All the other parties who arrived after us just so happen to be white as well, so me being the only black party in the restaurant, and being lied to, ignored, and treated like we did not matter, race is the only reason I can think of why we were treated that way. I haven't spoken on the food, but to be honest, it wasn't good. It came out in less than 5 minutes as if they just microwaved it, my wife is very familiar with curry chicken and naan bread, and what they gave us was a poor excuse, not wroth the money. Even if race wasn't an issue and quality of service was a downside, id skip this place. there are plenty of Indian/indo-asian foods around that offer a...
Read moreHorrible Experience. I was there with couple of my friends because my treat. We waited at the desk for 35 minutes not one attended us or even acknowledged us. Then two Indian couple just walks in talks to the manager he gets them the seats right away. ( if you are not going to me attending people at front then don’t leave the sign that says “Please Wait Here” ). Then we also had to go to the manager for seats. And Wala! Tables just appears. No doubt the restaurant was busy to they at least need to say “Sorry For Your Wait” instead what we get is big fake smile my manager. It’s been 15 minutes no water no / no waiter. We are ready to order Because we know what we wanted but the waiter brings the water and takes the order for the people who came after we seat. Great!! He finally comes take the order. Of course, with that fake big smile. So my first appetizer is here after 15 minutes of wait—still no water. Then they bring in the soup of cup for one person instead we had order a bowl for a group. So take it back in for a big bowl. Meanwhile after another 15 minutes main course comes in we finish the main course. Still NO Sight of WATER NO SOUP and one of the appetizers is still missing. We had finished our main course then the soup comes in (I swear to god if we weren’t hungry and tired I would have left right way). Now we have water since friend had to get manager for water. No sorry of course but only big fake smiles. Meanwhile, the missing appetizer comes in and guess what. It is not what we order. So the waiter comes to argue and agree to place another order well. After 20 minutes the same waiter comes to serve the ladies beside us on the other table. He looks at us ask if your appetizer has came in yet with that big smile. Then he dares to ask do you still want to the appetizer after waiter for hour and half. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. No sorry no apologies. He said “if you want it I have go in and place an order.” So cancelled the order and waited about 15 minutes for the check. One of friend who was supper mad went to manager to complain. Guess manager said, “sorry it won’t happen next time we are busy.” ARE NOT OTHER RESTAURANTS IN NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN BUSY TOO!! We still can’t forget the big smile. Well that is for sure that I am never coming back here and recommending these place to anyone. Horrible service, terrible staff, mind blowing manager, and truly pathetic ...
Read moreA great new surprising experiment on Indo-Asian Cuisine.
My fiance and I stopped by here for dinner this past Saturday and decided to give Inchin a shot. Man were we surprised! To be honest my first impression made me think we'd be eating 100% East Asian cuisine but were delighted to see that a variety of options were available also from Indian pan cuisine as well. My first thoughts when trying to explain this restaurant is that it definitely seems like there has been a re-launch or re-imagining of the business model at this restaurant, but I think they may have stumbled onto something great.
With that said, let me talk about the food. I had the be spicy garlic noodles whereas my partner had the hot garlic shrimp. The way in which dishes are served here is I think more suited for sharing with each person being given a smaller plate and the entrees served in a manner which is conducive to distributing the food at the table. We both thought the flavors were off the charts! I really enjoyed the sauces used in flavoring the shrimp, and the noodles seemed really fresh, not like your standard dried and reconstituted noodles you get at the supermarket.
We also had the Momo dumplings for an appetizer and they packed a punch! Served in a more traditional pot sticker wrap, they contained a lot of the curried Indian spices you'd probably expect from chicken tikka or tandoori chicken.
Last, we ordered and shared both the chocolate spring rolls and . Small servings, but again, the flavors really shined through again, despite the simple ingredients in each.
My overall take on Inchin is that the floor is really high on this place as long as they continue to prioritize the flavors of what they serve. At the time we were there (6-7:30pm) there was no real music or ambience and you could hear the HVAC running pretty well overhead. Despite this it was a great visual experience with all the well thought out decor. Again though, this still leaned much harder to Eastern Asia cuisine, rather than embracing a more subtle fusion of the two cultures. If the ownership could figure out a way to better fold them in together like they do with their food they will have so much success I believe.
In conclusion, loved it and definitely will be back for more to try a new dish, which may already be part of...
