After hearing alot about this bar my friends finally got me to come out last night an check it out . For it being my first time I had a horrible experience. In total it was 6 of us that went me being the only one out the group that has never been there. So after getting in one the guys I'm with is telling Me about the bar an how the first level is live music ect.. pretty cool. We all go up the stairs to the second level or floor an 4 of my friends proceed to go in as me an my other friend are right behind them . There was a black guy I'm assuming is management or security standing there although he was not dressed like the other security guards I had seen so far tell me an my friend to stop right there . So it being my first time there I assumed it was over crowded in there an he was tryna clear it out some before letting me an my friend walk in . We'll after standing for a couple minutes I realized something else was goin on especially after seeing people goin back an fourth on that level but we were told to stop an stand right there. So the black guy finally says to my friend "I don't know how you were let in or why they let you in but your sagging an we don't tollerate that! My friend proceeds to raise his shirt up an says "I'm not sagging what are you talking about " he also tells the guy I've been in an out of here the last few hrs back an fourth an hadn't had a problem at all coming in or nothing my wife is in here that's who I came here with . So as my friend an the guy are goin back an fourth . I finally ask the guy so why am I not allowed in you never said I was sagging sir . He never gave me a response. By this time I turned around an seen about 4 security guards coming up the stairs an knew this was finna get even more weirder. As they come up the stairs one of the guards tells me an my friend to come down the stairs we'll talk about it down there so I turn around an proceed to go down the stairs . The security guard I'm with was actually cool an honestly gave me his opinion on what was goin I told him " Yo idk whats goin on but they said my friend was sagging which he wasn't I guess I'm guilty by association. He laughed an said " Man they always be on some bullshit in here borderline racist " He said if I were you I wouldn't even spend no money in here the way they be acting. I told him bro this my first time here bro my friends brung me out here to check it out an this is what happens . I was never told what I actually did or why I getting kicked out. ONCE again if we were sagging or not in dress code when we first got searched to go in the place I'm pretty sure they would of said something to us or not even allowed us to enter the building. Management an or security have no respect or communication. Definitely...
Read moreI wrote customer assistance from their website where you can talk to their manager. I don’t not sure, but I was told by my niece that they weren’t great when it came to hospitality. I can see what she meant. The waitress we got was rude, threw down our menus didn’t help us didn’t talk to us about what we wanted Not a bad day because the people in front of us she took time and asked them what they would like was nice to them and kept on looking at me. Cross eyed came back asked me if I was ready and I started to try to ask her about something and she just walked away cause I wasn’t ready I was the worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere. She kept walking by giving me dirty looks and yeah, I looked at her back crazy because she kept looking at me crazy we ordered from the bar not the waitress got to order two things of food two people that were with us didn’t like it went upstairs. Had a wonderful time upstairs, but I wanted to stay downstairs with the music should’ve went upstairs cause she kept walking by giving me Then told security, she felt uncomfortable, and I went to the bathroom and she followed me and was watching me and my son followed me to watch me And then when I came out security told me I had to leave mind you. I just got two drinks. We got two for me because the bar was busy never got to drink them. Had to throw them away. Had to leave because the waitress didn’t want us there she said she felt uncomfortable. Neither she kept walking by my table giving us dirty. Looks didn’t make any money off because we went to the bar mind, you hadn’t seen my son in years. That’s the first time we got together and I wanted to go there to hear the music and enjoy stuff. She ruined everything all because I don’t know why because the white people she was helping in front of us mind you I’m not black I’m Mexican, but still colored skin I guess cause the white people in front of us she took the time to take their menus and hand them to them. Talk to them about the menu was the way she should’ve been with us everybody in our party felt as soon as she came to the table, that’s why two of our parties left and went upstairs. I didn’t get any reply from the email that I sent the manager. I asked to see the manager in the front door, and I was told no mind you was not intoxicated hadn’t even had one barely one drink. The music was great. I don’t know. My son was full of tattoos. Maybe she was judging him which is crazy because the bar that we were at, he figured he wouldn’t be judged there of all places so sad that place can be amazing, but they definitely need some better help. They need to come through these bad apples because every other place we went to the hospitality was great. Can’t judge Nashville by...
Read moreI am a big fan of Jelly Roll so when my BFF and I decided to do a girls trip in Nashville this month, I knew I wanted to check out his new bar. It definitely was not what I expected it to be as far as the atmosphere and employees. The man standing at the door was not friendly or welcoming at all. My friend and I are both in our 60s and do not mind being carded but that was all he said to us was that I need your ID!
After getting into the bar I went to the back to get my husband and myself a T-shirt. The T-shirts I felt were overpriced. I know that stuff cost more in Nashville on Broadway, but I found other T-shirts such as like at Kid Rock’s bar and paid a lot less than the T-shirts were priced at Jelly Roll bar. Then on top of it, I got charged a $2 venue fee on EACH T-shirt. My friend bought a koozie and was wondering why her $5 koozie went up to over $7. She also got charged a venue fee.
Well, I was buying the T-shirts my friend got a small glass of the water they offer and it tasted like sewer water. It was horrible tasting.
We then left to go walk around a little bit since it was our first day in town.
We came back a little bit later because we wanted to try some of the food. Again, we were asked for our ID from the guy at the door which wasn’t a problem, but it would’ve been nice for him to welcome us to the bar or at least say hi.
The music was so loud that even screaming we could not hear each other talk. I understand that people want to hear the music, but it shouldn’t be so loud that you cannot even communicate with each other sitting at a table.
We waited quite a while before a server even came and asked us if we wanted anything to eat or drink. We ordered a pizza to share and I got a prime drink. My friend got water. We weren’t sure what to order since it was our first time so we thought we would start with the pizza and go from there. It took so long to get our drinks and Pizza so that was all that we Ordered. As you can see the $16 pizza isn’t much bigger than my hand. The prime drink was $7. Oh and let’s don’t forget that again we were charged a venue fee on everything we ordered. My friend did not like the pizza but I thought it was just OK. The sauce is a little different than normal pizza sauce and I think that’s what she did not like.
We ended up going to Kid Rock’s bar and stayed dancing and listening to good music with good drinks and no venue fees! Those venue fees add up and we just could not see paying a venue fee for every single item we purchased at Jelly Roll.
We never returned during our trip. I was so disappointed because I thought that was going to be one of the highlight of me going to Nashville was to be able to go to...
