Man, where to start. I'll say, customer service was acceptable. He was kind enough, didn't talk much, but certainly not rude or unreasonable. This issue is company wide, I think, not about this specific location or any of the employees.
The pricing though... man. I brought in a monitor I bought 6 months ago for $550 (240hz, 1440p gaming monitor) that was in excellent condition, with all original cables and power supply, and was offered $75 for it. Brought in a $1300 6 month old gaming pc in excellent condition and was offered $275. That's less than the price of the CPU alone, even in used condition. Same can be said of the GPU. Very clearly not top dollar prices, contrary to their website's claims.
And I can prove it too. I also had a very lightly used headset (a $350 headset), and was offered $60 for it. I tried my best not to scoff, and declined the offer. Immediately upon declining, he clicked two buttons and I was suddenly given another offer of $85. So tell me, how can you claim to offer top-dollar when a simple denial raises your offer by 35%? Surely if it's top dollar, it can go no higher, right? If you're willing to buy the headset for $85, why say $60? The moment that happened my skepticism of the company and the legitimacy of the reviews I've read skyrocketed.
There were two other items I brought in that he simply glanced at and said they couldn't take. A microphone and another headset. No reason was offered for why he wouldn't take them. No analysis was done of the items. Didn't even take them out of the boxes. Do they just not take microphones? Was it because it was too cheap? I'll never know.
I also brought a laptop that I was offered $40 for. I denied, went home, and found an online shop that offered $135 and would pay for me to ship it to them. Again, how can this company claim "top-dollar" offers when all it takes is 5 minutes of research to objectively prove this wrong.
My conclusion is as some others have deduced: These plethora of 5 star reviews are almost certainly either outright fake or financially motivated. Everyone claiming to know employees by name (neither of the two employees offered me theirs), that they were incredibly helpful and offered prices higher than they even anticipated... this is all beyond belief to me at the moment. I'm forced to conclude those are not reports of real experiences.
This was not worth the 45 minute drive or the $4 I had to pay to park there. Not recommended. Sell electronics elsewhere. Almost literally anywhere else, in fact. I do not like being unnecessarily rude, or leaving 1 star reviews to any company that I believe is working on good faith. Hopefully you can see here that my dissatisfaction is justified, and that this is a company to...
Read moreCustomer service was nice, the man was kind enough to warn me about the parking situation . However, the prices for the items I brought were unacceptable . I think I got a fair-ish price for the two Switch games I brought in and though it was a bit low, the price I got for the Switch Lite was decent enough . However, a $300 speaker being valued at $35 dollars because of static ? I had used it prior to coming in and knew for a fact there was no static, but even if there had genuinely been some, that does not lower its price down to a measly $35 . Whatever, I'm certainly glad I did not give the Switch OLED that I had brought in if the pricing on the items I brought in had been better . I took the money because I needed it, but it seems like this business doesn't actually give you top dollar for your items. I can't see myself returning, I think I'd rather sell my things on Facebook marketplace...
Read moreI just sold my MacBook Pro at the Midtown PayMore and had a fantastic experience, thanks to Ron.
When Ron first gave me the offer, it was a little lower than I was hoping for. However, instead of just sticking to the initial number, he was proactive. He took the time to talk to his manager and genuinely worked to get me a better deal. I really appreciate him going that extra mile—we landed on a price that I was very happy with!
The rest of the process was super smooth. Ron was professional and transparent as he securely wiped my data right in front of me and processed the payment quickly. I walked out with instant cash and complete peace of mind.
If you’re looking to sell your old electronics and want someone who is willing to advocate for you on price, definitely go see Ron at PayMore Midtown! He turned what could have been a tough transaction into...
