We are here on vacation. We went here Sunday and there was a young woman working. Amazing service and the best coffee I had ever had. The blended vanilla bean tasted like a milkshake. I was so excited to go again.
We went again a day or so later, a young man was working. Nice but quiet, coffee was absolutely disgusting. So disappointing.
Went again thinking that was a fluke. A different young woman was working, she had such an attitude and was extremely rude. It seemed to be she had a problem with customers coming in at 2pm, 30 min ahead of closing time. Coffee was again awful.
We went again today. A different young lady who doesn’t know how to do her makeup. Another person with an extremely awful attitude for absolutely no reason to all customers, slamming coffees down, no eye contact. A completely miserable person. Coffee was again TERRIBLE.
Amazing how 1 great barista made me think this was the best place ever and conned me into coming back all week to be treated like trash 2/3 times and get disgusting waste of money coffee all 3 times. This place is the absolute worst. This place badly needs a staff reset.
Typical trendy coffee place with young workers who couldn’t be bothered and make crap drinks. Go in to pay for the atmosphere and that’s it, which frankly needs updating anyways. What a shame. I wouldn’t be this upset if I didn’t go in there every day like a moron expecting the coffee to be great again like the first day. Parlor donuts single handily made a lasting negative impact on our trip to Nashville. Way to start the day every day drinking absolute garbage and disappointment. Wasted far more money than I can stomach here too....
Read moreMy overall experience was marred by the customer service I experienced. I visited 12/16/24 around 1 p.m.
Upon entering, there was a greeting of “Hi.” While this was not a terrible greeting, it’s far less than, “Hello/Welcome to Parlor Doughnuts.”
From there, the service worsened my experience. I asked about the flavors of several doughnuts that were not clearly marked (because there were two labels but only one doughnut).
After deciding on doughnuts, I asked for the maple pecan and strawberry shortcake doughnuts. I ordered with a friend. My friend asked that the strawberry shortcake doughnuts be placed in a separate bag because she’s allergic to strawberries. The cashier’s response was, “Well, they’re all cross-contaminated, so it won’t matter. I use the same tongs for all of the doughnuts.”
I felt that was a poor response since there are several options to avoid direct contact with the allergen (e.g picking the doughnut up with a fresh paper bag, clean the tongs, etc.).
While checking out, I kindly asked, “Do you all have a veteran discount?” To be clear, I have no sense of entitlement. I simply asked with hope that one was available. The cashier presumptively said, “No!” Then followed up with, “Well, I don’t know. Let me check.” After checking, she found and applied the discount. If her attitude hadn’t been so poor during my visit, this would have been less noticeable.
As for the reason for the visit: The doughnuts were really good. Both doughnuts were coated with sugar before being topped with their respective flavors/toppings. Each doughnut had a nice, crisp, fritter-like exterior with a very soft, densely...

Pretty quickly you realize this isn’t your typical doughnut. It’s a layered doughnut made with perfection! They have several flavors to choose from and there honestly isn’t a bad one (trust me, I’ve tried every single one). Here’s what makes this a five star doughnut:
Excellent taste (buttery dough, glaze, fresh topping) Great texture (flaky, soft, and chewy) You feel good after eating it (you don’t feel like you just ate a heavy brick) Awesome value (they are substantial in size, but easy on your wallet)
If doughnuts aren’t your thing; no worries. They roast their own coffee which is ridiculously good and right on par with all of Nashville’s best coffee shops. And they have a grab and go breakfast menu that is killer (sandwiches, avocado toast, breakfast tacos, etc.)
Beyond the product, Parlor earns 5-stars because of the experience.
The vibe is top-notch; warm and inviting. And Parlor sets themselves apart with incredible customer service. Everyone is friendly and helpful - if you’re having a rough day just go to Parlor and it will get instantly better because of the staff you will encounter. They don’t take their customers for granted and it shows.
If you are from out of town, you obviously know Nashville is known for country music, hot chicken, etc. Add Parlor Doughnuts to the list of things you must experience in order to get the full Nashville experience.
If you’re local to Nashville, we obviously take a lot of pride in our city and our food scene. Parlor is the unique doughnut shop that we can...
