I had one of the most DEPLORABLE incidents earlier today. I stay at hotels with my kids a lot in the city, so we frequent the Walk ons location on Poydras quite a bit. Not only does it have food that has the ability to be good in the midst of eateries around, but I used to work here and I helped open this restaurant lol. Ok, I called to speak to an attendant after I placed my order for 4 minutes to ask her to PLEASE ensure to speak to the kitchen to get my order correct. Nothing too hard, I’ll be posting my receipt, and what I asked to have done. I said literally every time I order a whole lot is missing, wrong, or both, and I’m Bariatric, hungry, and feeding a few little kids and grandkids and we’ll usually walk over to get my order corrected, but that I’m farther this time and didn’t want to have to spend extra money, again, as I ALWAYS have to do, to have my order fixed. The attendant I spoke to for 4 minutes (I’ll post that photo), ensured she’d speak to the kitchen because, again, there was literally NOTHING too hard that I was asking for. I get my order and OF COURSE I’m missing the majority of it and it’s wrong. I call to speak to a manager and a young man who was very apologetic , I’d asked him if he could remake my entire order, and send it via package in an Uber. He was extremely willing to, but stated there was no way for him to pay for the Uber delivery. I said ok, I, AGAIN, have to pay MORE Money for yall mistake, so to rectify that, can I get 2 bang bang shrimp to cover that. He said yes and that he was getting my order ready and then, a woman with the NASTIEST disposition ever, grabs the phone and begins to let me know that usually, they’d make me bring everything BACK IN TO THEM before even considering a remake. I told her that first of all, I’m shocked at the tone you’re taking with ME. Where’s the integrity? Then, I proceeded to let her know, that fortunately, I record all of my videos from the time the delivery driver hands me the food until I open it, it’s a habit I developed because delivery services tend to not want to give refunds anymore because they think we don’t tell the truth about missing or incorrect orders. I said I open it on the same video, so if you’d give me a phone number or email, I can send it to show you I’m not lying, because she began saying how she packed the order herself, and she KNOWS this and that had to be in there. So I said I can show you that the items were made wrong and a LOT of things I paid for were missing from my order. I said the fact that you won’t even give me an email or number to send my proof speaks VOLUMES to the integrity of this restaurant! She began to say she’s not questioning if I’m telling the truth, and she’ll be sure to remake the order and include the extra bang bang shrimp I asked for. I said thank you and she hung up in my face. I called back and told the attendant to let her know I don’t want the order. She said she was getting started on it and I said nooooo, tell her it’s ok, I don’t want anything from anyone who handles me, the extremely correct customer WITH PROOF, so indecently. I’d love to speak to a higher manager and send my proof, that I’d also love to post here. I’ll never patronize this business again, and I’m sure that when my video is posted, I won’t get an apology, but I just want the general public to see I’m not lying in the least and that the least they could have done, was rectify the situation! Update: the restaurant responded here and asked me to allow them to make it right, yet nobody has reached out to me. Let’s me know they have no integrity when it comes to their customers!

I sent an email about our experience. We came down from Ohio. After a long drive from our last location wanted something local and close to our hotel. Not many places were still open. The food and reviews made it promising. We went in shortly after 10pm (party of 8) and was seated in a backroom. After 15 minutes my sister and her boyfriend went to the bar to get drinks and see what was going on. She said the bartender was the only nice person there. She wasn't too sure who was out on the floor. After about 10:58pm and several workers passing by not once asking if we needed drinks or food we decided to order our food online. I kind of wish we took our $120+ elsewhere. I went to the front desk to pick up my order and mentioned to the guy we had waited an hour without being served and he said "sorry 'bout that" and walked away. I thought he should of been up there to begin with cause he at least communicated to people walking in that they were only serving food at the bar (at that point it was after 11:15). My sister questioned if it was because we were Asian or looked from out of town. I think it was just poor service. I am disappointed to the point where I wouldn't return. 🤷‍♀️ My sister and her boyfriend went back up to the bar to get drinks and the bartender was shocked that whole time we hadn't been served. She told my sister if she had known she would of served her herself. We got back to the hotel and the food was alright. My daughters' sliders and burger looked good. The fries were seasoned too much. My sister paid for drinks and completely forgot until we got to our hotel (they weren't included with her order). We were just wanting our food and to get out of there so we could eat.

After working a local game, I decided to stop by Walk-On’s for a bite before catching the bus home—and I’m glad I did. There was no wait, and I easily found a seat at the bar. The bartender was absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and clearly skilled. As a fellow mixologist, I appreciated how knowledgeable she was about her craft. We discussed what kind of Manhattan I wanted, and she customized it perfectly based on the spirits available. It was spot on. I ordered the Hickory Burger, and it was excellent—perfectly cooked, with flavorful toppings that really made it stand out. My only complaint was the honey mustard situation: I had to ask twice, and when it came, the portion was tiny—so small I needed a second one. A small hiccup in an otherwise great meal. One letdown was that the local game wasn’t on TV—I was hoping to catch the end—but considering how it was going, I get it. Still, that’s part of the charm of a sports bistreaux, so I hope they consider more local game coverage in the future. I’ve been to several Walk-On’s locations, including the impressive setup they ran at the Zurich Classic, and this one holds its own. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of the sports arena and just outside the heart of downtown. It’s a great spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, out on a casual date, or just hanging solo. Pro tip: order a drink—you won’t be disappointed. And if you’re a sports fan, strike up a conversation with a local about golf or baseball. This place is welcoming and full of character.

Where do I start? 12 friends and I went to this establishment to watch the superbowl game 2/9/25. We did not have a great experience. We called months in advance and even stopped by the Saturday before the superbowl game to confirm that it was first come first serve and that they were not accepting reservations as this was told to us prior. We were encouraged by one of the workers over the phone and in person to come hours before the game because it would be a long line. We got there at 2:00 pm. There were only a few other people ahead of us in line. After standing in line for over 2 hours a rude guy (one of the workers) came out and said this is NOT the line to get in. By this time the line had gotten super long. I proceeded to ask him well where is the line? He said I have not decided yet. I don't know if I'm going to start the line this way in which that's where EVERYONE was in line, or if I'll start it on the other side. I haven't made up my mind yet. Maybe 40 minutes before the game was to start he came out and said that the line will be on the OPPOSITE side. So, now you have a line with hundreds of people trying to rush to the other side. There was no structure and no one from the establishment to come assist everyone with moving to the other side in an orderly fashion and to ensure that no one cut the line. Needless to say, so many people cut the line and was in front of the ones like myself that had been in line for hours. Moving on, once the line was shifted to the other side, we waited in line once again. The same guy came out and said we will not be letting anyone else in. It is standing room only. You will not be allowed to sit. This was completely unprofessional and disappointing. Why not make this announcement that it was standing room only when you saw everyone waiting in line for HOURS. We could have made the decision to go elsewhere. This should have been mentioned when we called months ago and when we stopped by the previous night to inquire about the superbowl hosting. A few of my friends and I decided to stay because we did not want to miss the game. The rest of our group left. Once inside we talked with a few a locals and explained our experience. The locals told us that they did not have to wait in line at all. They walked up and were let right in. As a tourist this was a slap in the face. Our overall experience was horrible. The next time that I come into town I will not come here. It was utterly ridiculous the way that they treated us tourist that flew in from all over the world. New Orleans is a great place to visit, but this...
