Been a long time customer since they reopened with the new name, mostly for delivery. Food is pretty good a one of the fish filet dish is actually very good and we ordered it all the time. Unfortunately, today’s ordering experience was absolutely terrible that I actually upset enough to write this review. Ordered the regular dishes and a couple more, asked about a new dish and she hurried me off the phone to finish the order. Seemed that she tried to called me back 15 minutes later but we didn’t hear the phone. When the order came, she gave us the wrong dish filter dish. I called restaurant she was nasty saying I didn’t answer the phone so she looked up my past order and gave me the filet dish I usually get, which was not true. I said i want replacement and get the right filet dish, she started arguing but eventually said sure. 30 minutes later I called back asking where the food was and she start yelling that I hung up and didn’t want a replacement. What a liar, we don’t want a replacement when the dish she sent was not what we ordered and she certainly didn’t offered to refund us for the wrong dish but asked instead what % tip for the driver. I was so mad that I screamed back that I am waiting for the replacement dish and I want to talk to the manager. She told me I can not talk to the manager and the manager is not there. On the said, I can hear her talking to someone else in mandarin. I ended the call requesting the manager to give me a call back. So unfortunately to find a decent restaurant that I ordered directly so they don’t have to pay extra for delivery platform and ended up hating the experience so much that I now have to search for another place for dishes I liked. I will post to my community group about my experience since I had recommended the restaurant before! Just venting here but I am so...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! It’s too bad google reviews doesn’t have a zero star option because 1 star is way too generous. I ordered delivery and was shocked at the high prices but assumed it would be a good restaurant. Delivery time was about a half hour but I’ve had better tasting food in a shopping mall food court. The egg roll was cold and tasteless and the main rubbery chicken dish was a melange of oil and slime mystery. I paid a grand total of $45 (including the tax and tip) for a lousy meal of 1 tasteless appetizer and 1 even worse main course. The fun didn’t stop there. I had painful cramps all night and the next day came down with the worst case of stomach virus you can imagine. Save your time, money and health and STAY FAR AWAY...

Strolled into aptly named Our New Place for the first time and was blown away. If you’re looking for your go-to Chinese spot, this is it.

Ordered the chicken with cashews lunch special, which came with wonton soup and even a $5 beer (yes, really). The wonton soup was incredible—rich chicken broth and two hand-made-tasting wontons that could’ve come straight from grandma’s kitchen. Easily one of the best broths I’ve had anywhere.

The chicken with cashews was perfect: tender pieces, balanced with crisp celery and water chestnuts, no filler, no chewy bits—just fresh, flavorful, and satisfying.

Service was excellent too—friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant.

Our New Place absolutely lives up to its name. Great food, great...

The ambiance was nice. Service was quick. I was happy with the shu mai. Pad thai was good. Sweet and sour fish was okay. But I was confused when I ordered chow fan and got a plate of stir fried noodles. I asked the waiter, is chow fan rice? And he said yes. I pointed on the bowl of noodles and asked if this is chow fan? The lady cashier answered yes chow fan is fried rice. That is stir fried RICE noodles then proceeded to speak in chinese to yer colleagues. I felt betrayed. Im not chinese, but Im asian, and I studied in a chinese school. But i dont want to argue with an old chinese lady about chinese food. Maybe its my fault because I didnt ask what chow fan is? I am cultured enough that when I ask for chow fan, i expect fried effin RICE!

Rude and discriminatory service Visited on July. I came in for a quick meal and asked to switch to a table near an outlet to charge my phone — the place was half empty. The staff’s response? “Someone’s coming for that seat.” No one ever came. What’s worse: just minutes before, they were all smiles and warmth to a group of white customers. The moment they saw I was Asian and alone, their tone shifted — cold, dismissive, and impatient. It’s sad to see this kind of “internalized discrimination” at a Chinese restaurant in NYC. If you're not a big group, white, or tipping extravagantly — don’t expect decent treatment here. I won't be coming back.
