Was walking by down park Avenue and googled for Mexican food and found this small restaurant! There were lots of people buying here and I thought to try this. From outside, it looked really small shop, but the food here was good. It’s almost like a hidden gym between so many other big restaurants in Park Avenue and Lexington…
One good thing is they had a good and big smile .. The guy taking orders was patient and gave good information… they didn’t have much varieties for vegetarians and hence I went with falafel over rice.. I know it is a bit weird to buy falafel in a Mexican restaurant but the dish looked good and appetizing .. They also have combo offers and I didn’t know much about that. I think they give a free soda or water with the meal… there is also a 15% discount for healthcare workers which I did not know too.. wish they had the 15% discount right next to the billing counter..
Falafel over rice was sumptuous and the quantity was really good .. falafel became a bit soggy, but tasted good.. hummus and salad was good.. the rice also was fresh and tasted good.. had to wait 15 minutes to get my order, but it was worth it… .4...
Read moreI ate here few times and it was a good experience. But today it became horrible. I ordered shrimp burrito and at first I thought it’s just not tasty but after a few bites I realized that shrimp was moldy. Like really bad. I threw it away. And I went back to the place not only to return money but mostly to let them know cause it’s very dangerous. People could get really sick with not fresh seafood. But at the place they made me feel like I was a fool. They just didn’t care. They said that yeah we are going to check it but it was obviously not true. I had this horrible aftertaste of mold for about an hour. And had to take absorbent. And I felt so so bad about all that it’s just couldn’t get out of my head. I feel that they know that it’s not fresh that’s why they put so much salt. It’s obviously not a first time. I feel disappointed because I was really excited about this place before. Not gonna risk my health again. They should...
Read moreThe quesadillas here are quite good and usually provided with ample cheese (which is becoming less and less common in Manhattan.) We come here at least weekly for them. Tacos are entirely a "pass" as the tiny bits of meat are barely visible to the naked eye. The carrot cake is an oldie but goodie and is the most consistently delicious item on the menu. The "chile" is not really chile but instead an awful mash of beans.
The service here can be comical if one does not habla espanol. On our last visit we'd decided to give the hard shell tacos another try. We received all soft shell versions. When this mistake was pointed out to the cashier, she simply looked at us as if utterly dumbfounded. No apology, no correction, no cares...
