If you want the chef to completely ignore your cooking instructions (for a hamburger mind you) this is the place to go because they gave me the best RAW hamburger I've ever had. I asked for it cooked medium and when I bit into I promise I heard it moo. To be fair, even though it was not cooked to the point where I wanted it, the burger was seasoned to perfection and the burger presentation was what you would expect form an high quality artesian burger restaurant. Incidentally the price of the burger reflects the quality in presentation and seasoning, it's like $18, but the fries were spectacular so that almost justified the high price. Also if fries are what you are into I'm recommending going to this place just for those. The happy hour prices were quite good for NYC and the draft selection was extensive. The service was a little lacking (because of one specific waiter who will remain nameless) but I wouldn't read too much into that. It was a busy day and our waiter seemed nice enough, just bad at his job. He was fairly slow, even with the traffic, and he forgot some of our orders which were pretty simple. I suspect this was a one off occurrence but still it was pretty annoying. Overall JD's provided an average meal (mostly because of the chef decided not to do what was asked of him) for a...
Read moreThe discrimination The manager of Jack Demsey’s displays towards people with disabilities is appalling. We entered the restaurant with 11 veterans with disabilities, 8 of which had service dogs to assist these veterans with their disabilities. The manager immediately showed our group horrible and downright rude behavior because of our service dogs. It was explained to him that it is ADA FEDERAL law that we are allowed access to the restaurant like anyone else. The manager continued to argue that the dogs are too much and will take up too much room. This discrimination escalated so much that group members began to have panic attacks and were forced to leave. On our way out the manager was telling us to have a nice day in a snide tone that was clearly mocking us. Jack Demsey’s, you just turned away 11 veterans with disabilities because we required medical devices (service dogs). This was the worst and most humiliating experience I have ever had and I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. The restaurant is not ADA friendly and deserves a visit from the ADA in the future. Guess the restaurant only gives good customer service to people without...
Read moreWent in for the UK Wildcat/Florida football game on 10/02/21 after a great day in NYC. Have been here before and love the UK atmosphere. The third floor was packed so the staff was gracious enough to put the UK game on in the back of the first floor. To keep this simple, the waitress started out very mediocre but giving her the benefit of doubt, she was busy and seemed to be the only one waiting on the whole first floor. After a couple of beer, the only ones drank all day, I complimented her and told her she was doing a great job and jokingly asked if she was the only one there. Unknown to her, my wife was headed downstairs to go to the restroom and heard her turn around and state I must be really drunk,,,which I was no where near in such a shape. Being the professional person I am, I never said a word to her, but we will never return to a place that employs people to be so judgmental and rude, especially after they are being complimented on their work ethic. We didn’t even finish the game in this establishment, went back to the hotel and watched a great win by the CATS. Personal foul...
