Avoid This Tourist Trap!

I went to this pizzeria last night and had a very unpleasant experience. I ordered 4 slices of pizza and 2 draft beers (one large and one small), and I was shocked by the bill: $45!

After doing the math, I realized I was overcharged by at least $14.56 compared to the actual prices and tax rates in New York City (8.875%). Here’s the breakdown of what I should have paid: • 2 slices of pizza at $3.99 → 2 × $3.99 = $7.98 • 2 slices of pizza at $4.99 → 2 × $4.99 = $9.98 • 2 draft beers at approximately $5.00 each → 2 × $5.00 = $10.00 • Subtotal (before tax): $27.96 • Sales tax (8.875%): $2.48 • Total real price: $30.44

Yet, I was charged $45, which means they added at least $14.56 on top of the real price for no reason!

When I questioned the cashier about the excessive charge, he simply said it was “the taxes,” which is completely false. Then came the classic excuse: “Ohhh, you’re in New York, that’s why the prices are different.”

Let me remind you that this planet has plenty of other tourist destinations, and yet, in most places, businesses don’t blatantly rip you off like this. High prices are one thing, but straight-up scamming customers is unacceptable.

If you don’t want to be deceived with inflated prices and fake excuses, avoid this place! There are plenty of honest pizzerias in New York that won’t steal from you in broad daylight.

UPDATE AFTER OWNER ANSWER! Unfortunately you cannot accept the idea your staff is stealing from clients. If that was the real price why I didn’t receive a receipt? To keep the lights on to the shop you have to push the switch on…. be transparent, put the real price on what you sell and you’ll have a good rename. If you earn $10 ripping customers doesn’t...

Title: Could Use a Good Clean and More Attentive Service

Review: I recently decided to try Little Italy Pizzaria on 33rd Street in Manhattan, lured by its reputation for New York-style pizza. However, my overall experience was mixed, leaving much to be desired.

The first point of contention was the staff. I found the staff to be notably uninterested and distant. A warm smile or a friendly interaction could have made a massive difference to my dining experience, but unfortunately, that was missing.

Next, let's talk about their Margherita pizza. As a fan of this classic flavor, I was pretty disappointed. The pizza lacked the vibrant taste of fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella, quintessential of a good Margherita. It's a simple recipe that needs to be executed well to shine, and it felt like this pizzeria missed the mark.

The hygiene and infrastructure of the restaurant left much to be desired. Upon entering, I noticed that the establishment appeared somewhat unkempt. Finding a clean table was challenging, and to my disappointment, the chair I sat on was broken. A satisfactory restaurant experience hinges on cleanliness and comfort, which were, unfortunately, lacking during my visit.

Lastly, the soda situation was not to my liking. The pizzeria only offered it in one large size, which was excessive for me. More size options would be appreciated, allowing patrons to choose according to their preferences.

To sum up, Little Italy Pizzaria could do with some improvements, mainly in customer service, food quality, and cleanliness. I hope they take these criticisms constructively and work towards elevating the dining experience for their customers. With the right changes, they can potentially live up to...

I thought I had found some of the best pizza in NYC and then I found this place. I have a gluten intolerance but have taken the little suffering multiple times now to eat this delicious pizza. They have gluten free but they don't on the ready to go slices. I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch slice and the flavor is good but the crust is the bomb. Rigid and crunchy but not overdone. Superior undercarriage with a nice texture and just the right chewiness to the dough. I also had the red and white silician slices which is my new found favorite. The dough is so light and airy that it feels like your eating a pillowy bed of goodness. It's chewy and clean, doesn't feel raw chewy but just perfectly airy and cooked. The sauce they use to me is just the right sweetness. It fills you up nice plus the sauce doesn't feel ridiculously acidic. This place has been ridiculously busy every time I have gone but it doesn't matter, they're quick, efficient and friendly. I have tried pizza all over the country and this is by far in my personal top five for all time best. Really enjoyed it.

  • QUICK UPDATE, upon returning this weekend to NYC, I learned there are multiple Little Italy Pizzas and they are not associated. The other ones are completely different to this location, so if you like my review, then Google this...
