Lula Bagel — Restaurant in New York

I've lived in Crown Heights since 2009 and Lula Bagel is one of the best things that has happened in our neighborhood. Yosi, the owner, created such a welcoming place for everyone to gather, eat, enjoy coffee, and create memories.

I have never seen anyone work as hard as Yosi. He takes good care of his staff, empowers them, and provides a healthy work environment. As a result, his staff does consistent good work. They will make an effort to know your name if you are a regular.

My favorite is the #2 -- Lox on whole wheat everything bagel and mint lemonade iced tea (easy on the ice of course). My partner's favorite is whole wheat everything bagel with green olive cream cheese. Check out their full menu, there's something for everyone.

Ordering on Uber eats is hell. Constantly forget items , or they just completely mix up your order and give you things you didn’t ask for . I specifically called to ask them to double check my order and after waiting an HOUR I was still missing an item . The employee was completely unapologetic and it would be nice to hear an apology when you just wasted $50 on bagels and food and your bagels aren’t the ones you ordered and your sandwich was missing! I was offered the option to come in and pick it up which I will be doing . Ugh I want to love Lula Bagel but after trying and trying the bagels just are always sub par. I’ve had the quiche and that is excellent, great coffee, lovely staff. The bagels just do not meet any sort of NY standard. Also the scallion cream cheese is so weird, it doesn’t have slices of scallion in it, the cheese has a light green color overall and barely any scallion flavor that I can pick up on. The bagels are consistently hard, and if I ask for it toasted to try and help that texture be a bit better they always come out burnt.

This place is so great in every department except the bagels. I really hope they can revamp their bagel recipe so I can go here for more than their other items.
